Third Person POV:
Fastening his seatbelt, Carter zooms through the crowded city in his McLaren. He revs his engine proudly when people's heads turn to stare at his brightly coloured treasure in awe.
Finally approaching the hospital, he parks in a spot near to the door and steps out of his car; adjusting his vest and tie over his white button up. The intolerant white fabric struggles to hold together over his muscular biceps, stretching it to it's limit.
Carter needs to buy a size bigger apparently.
Carter leans over the drivers seat and stretches his arm out to grab his blazer from the passenger seat, he puts it on neatly before shutting the door of his most prized possession gently and locking the car. Shoving its weighable keys into his front pocket, he makes his way to the approachable glass doors and doesn't bother speaking to the lady at the front desk.
He pushes open the light blue door to Sylvie's room, forgetting to knock previously. Her head snaps towards the door in shock, a furious expression plastered across her tired face. A girl, slightly older than Sylvie, with dark brown curly hair stands before her with her arms crossed across her chest. She looks similar to Sylvia, the only difference lies in her hair and eyes. Her one eyebrow is lifted slightly more than the other as her gaze leaves Sylvie and lands on Carter. She eyes him up and down with a threatening, judgemental look.
"Who the hell is he?" She questions Sylvie, continuing to eye Carter up and down. "Carter" he responds, despite the question not being directed towards him. With a petty mind, he repeats the gestures given to him as he eyes the girl down with a judgemental expression.
"And you?" He questions, the girl uncrosses her arms from her chest and stretches it out in front of her body, towards Carter. "Katherine", she flashes him a fake closed mouth smile. Carter grabs her hand in his and begins to shake, maintaining heavy eye contact with her - unspoken words being shared between them.
Sylvie fakes a cough as an attempt to clear the obvious tension flowing through the air, this causes Carter to lose his contact with Katherine and direct his attention towards Sylvie. Though she makes it obvious that this is a fake cough, Carter still hands her the half-full glass of water from the table resting beside her bed after approaching her hastily.
Sylvie glares between him and Katherine before sipping on the water, "I think this conversation is over" Katherine speaks up, once again crossing her arms in front of her. Sylvie places the glass back on the table next to her, ignoring Carter's awaiting hand. She clears her throat before responding to her older sister, "yes, and I'm not that weak", she emphasises. "Yeah, that's what you said last time" Katherine scoffs one last time before turning on her heel and pulling open the door, flipping her brown hair over her shoulder as she walks out with a gust of wind.
Carter turns his head back to face Sylvie once the door shuts closed, assuring that Katherine had left. Sylvie stares at Carter, obviously not happy. "What?" Carter questions, she replies by simply rolling her eyes and pulling the blanket off from on top of her. She turns her body to the left and crawls out, ignoring Carter's question. "What?" He asks her again in desperation, "turn around" she orders, ignoring his question. "Why?" He questions dumbfounded, "I'm getting changed you idiot" she snaps. He rolls his eyes as he turns his body away, so his back was now facing Sylvie. She pulls on her jeans under her light blue hospital gown and then pulls the gown off her body, replacing it with a long-sleeved black shirt.
"Are you going to answer me?" Carter directs with his back still facing Sylvie. "Yeah, give me a second" she responds calmly as she stuffs her phone charger into a black duffel bag. Carter's eyebrows close together and mouth raise slightly as he quietly repeats Sylvie's words, 'give me a second'. The poor, confused man turns around hesitantly to view a fully dressed Sylvie, now sitting on the floor and putting on a pair of white air forces.
