Broke- Dvir x Minji

Prompt: Minji doesn't have any money, so Dvir pays for her mom's medicine. 

Dvir's POV

I walked into the pharmacy to get some saltines and Gatorade. My sister, Esther, wasn't feeling well this morning, so Ima (mother in Hebrew) sent me out to get some supplies. Our local pharmacy was perfect if you had a cold or a fever or whatever. I could go, get the stuff, and come back to my chips and Netflix shows. 

I strolled through the aisle, my eyes skimming the shelves. I tried not to pay attention to anyone there, because 'there are dangerous people in the world' according to Ima. But whatever. Ima is one heck of a lioness, so I obey her. She is my mom, after all. 

As I was paying for the saltines, I noticed a Korean girl standing by the medicines. Her eyes were a little red, her expression a little down. I noticed she was looking at some sort of cancer medicine. I couldn't help but feel bad for her. 

Minji's POV

I can't believe I don't have enough money. I forgot how expensive things are in Canada. I am so dumb. Why didn't I bring more money? Why did I spend so much? I'm just so dumb. My mom wasn't going to get her medicine, and she might not even live. A tear ran down my cheek, but I wiped it away quickly before anyone could notice. 

A few moments later, a boy walked up to me. He had dark hair and dark eyes, but he seemed friendly. Calm. Much cuter than he should've been. 

" Hey, are you trying to buy that?" he asked me, gesturing toward the medicine. 

" Uh, yeah. My mom is sick," I explained. 

" Oh," said the boy. He pulled out twenty dollars. Just what I needed for the medicine. " Take this." 

" No, you don't have to do this for me," I replied. " I can't take money from you." 

" You're not taking, I'm giving," he replied. " Take it, for goodness sake." 

So I took it. And I bought the medicine.
