*Mitch's P.O.V.*

I just didn't know what to do. He's my best friend. Correction was! I couldn't believe he got her into an accident. It was his entire fault. I wanted to kill him. I could just wring his neck. When I found out she was in the hospital I had just about died. When I heard it was a car accident, I just assumed it was Zach's fault. So, of course I was going to hurt him. She was my baby sister after all. I remember the day she was born as if it was yesterday.

*FLASHBACK*

"Aunt Anny," I whined, "Where's mommy and daddy?"

Aunty Anny pulled me into her lap and cuddled with me, "Well, Mitch, they are at the hospital with your new baby sister right now."

I scowled, "I don't want a baby sister. I don't want a baby. I want to be an only child. I will never love her."

Aunt Anny chuckled and was about to say something, but at that moment, the sound of tires echoed from outside. I jumped up and ran to the front door, flinging it open.

"MOMMMMMY!!!" I screamed as I ran out the door at my mom.

"Shh, Mitch," she shushed me, "You're baby sister is sleeping."

I glared, "I don't have a baby sister. I'm the only one. I don't want her. Take her back."

"Mitch," mom said, completely ignoring me, "I want you to meet your new sister. Her name is Jhana Faith Jasper."

As I set eyes on the little girl in my mom's arms, I knew that what I had said was a lie. She took my breath away and I knew at that very moment that I would never love anyone else like I loved my sister.

*Present Day*

I wiped a tear from my eye as I walked around the corner, walking into Joe, the stranger who had brought my sister to the hospital.

"Joe," I exclaimed, "I don't think I can ever thank you enough for what you did for my sister. I seriously don't know what I would do without her."

Joe just smiled, "It was the least I could do. I felt so bad for that boy. He obviously cared a lot about her. I mean, he must have walked for miles with her in his arms. You must be awfully proud to call him your best friend."

I gritted my teeth and nodded, making sure that I he couldn't see the pain he was causing me by saying this. Joe held his hand out and I took it in mine. We shook hands and then he turned and left.

"See you around, man," his voice echoed through the hallways. I just grunted in response.

*Zach's P.O.V.*

I had to get out. This place was killing me. The white walls felt like they were closing in all around me. I was suffocating.

I heard the nurses call out that visiting hours were over, and I overheard Jhana talking to Mitch down the hallway.

"You have to go, Mitch. Visiting hours are over. I'll be fine. Go home and sleep. I get to go home tomorrow so I will see you then. Ok? I love you," I heard Jhana say.

Mitch let out a few unintelligible words, but I heard his footsteps slowly fade into the distance. He was gone.

I knew that I had to go visit Jhana. I couldn't spend any more time away from her. I had to tell her how I felt. I had to do it before Mitch completely cut me off from her. I loved her.

I took a deep breath as I put my hand on the doorknob of my hospital room. I slowly pushed it open and peered down the corridor both ways making sure nobody was coming. I then, stealthily and quietly, made my way to her room. I swung her door open. The hinges gave a quiet creak and then settled back into silence. I saw her eyes look at me in the dark.

"Jhana, I'm so sorry," I whispered, "Can you ever forgive me?"

I saw her eyes open in surprise and recognition.

"Come in, Zach. You don't know how much I've missed you." Was her response.

*Sorry if this isn't the best. I just spent the entire day studying for a bio test and my brain is fried, but I had to put up the next chapter. Enjoy:)*
