It has been 5 weeks, 5 hours, and 21 minutes since the accident, and my cast is finally coming off today! I feel immense relief to finally be rid of this horrid contraption that is stuck to my leg. And to make matters worse, last week i forgot I had it on, and I showered without covering it up. It is all soggy and misshaped now.

"Jhana, the doctor will see you now," a young nurse with cherry red hair stuck her head in the door of the waiting room.

Mitch made a movement to get up with me. "Mitch! I'm not a child anymore!" I growled, "stop babying me. And i don't want you here. You've ruined my life! You stole the only thing from me that made me happy! Just leave!"

Mitch's face fell, his features clouded over with depression and sadness. "Jhan, I'm sorry alright! I just can't let you be together! I know what he used to be like and I cannot stand the thought of my baby sister being another notch on his post! You'll get over him. What you have is only puppy love, there is nothing more too it!"

I closed my eyes and counted to ten in my head, trying to come up with a rational response. Not being able to think of anything, I turned on my heel and left the room, following behind the nurse who had called my name.

"Alright sweetie," she proclaimed in an overly cheerful voice, "the doctor will be right with you. And don't worry, it won't hurt a bit!"

I clamped my jaw shut, trying not to snap at her. Why does everybody think of me as a child?

I settled on the doctors bed, turning every which way to try and get comfortable on the stereotypical, crinkling, mess of paper that every doctors office seems to have.

Just as I got comfortable, a knock sounds at the door, "miss, are you decent?"

I nod, and then remember that he can't see me, "yes sir, come on in."

Dr. Jaque enters the room, his piercing green eyes scanning me over before he sits at his computer. "And what can I do for you today dearie?" He questions, not once looking up from his computer screen.

"Well," I begin, "seeing as it's been 6 weeks, my cast needs to come off."

Dr. Jaque glances at my ankle, a look of amusement flirting across his face. "I see you had a fight with the water. And I see the water won."

His boisterous chuckle fills the room and I can't help but join in. "Yes sir! Kind of a bad judgement on my part! I forgot I had it on so I kind of just hopped into the shower."

With a twinkle in his eye, the doctor prints off a document and hands it to me, "well let's see if this dreadful thing can come off shall we? I'm going to send you for x-rays. Do you have anyone waiting for you? We can send them down to the x-Ray waiting room for you!"

Guilt instantly settles in over my head. "Well, just before I came in the room we got into an argument and I told him to leave. But I don't know if he did! His name is Mitch, and he's my brother."

Dr. Jaque's eyes fill with sorrow, "well miss jhana, I will have the nurse look and see if he is still there, but don't worry, I've known your family since you were all wii little ones, and he would never leave you, you mean everything to him."

I feel my eyes fill with tears and I turn away from him, "thank you dr. Jaque."
