[THIRD POV]

(Y/N) woke up, gasping for air as she sweated dreadfully.

She looked to her side, seeing Kenma sleeping. His arm was around her waist lazily, but the contact soon transformed into a hug.

"Kenma!" she cried as she hugged him; he jolted awake, widening his eyes when he heard (Y/N) cry.

"(Y/N)?!" Kenma woke up completely, wrapping his arms around her, "What happened?!"

"I had... a bad dream..." she cried softly into his shoulders, dampening his hoodie, "K-Kenma..."

"I thought you broke up with me."

Kenma didn't do much sleeping afterwards; when Kenma was younger, he'd spend all his time playing video games at night until he got scolded at for doing so. The habit formed to where Kenma would spend all his time at night doing computer work.

Now, he slept luxurious at night because he had a girlfriend to slumber with.

But tonight was different.

(Y/N) explained her dream; how she was sitting on the bed just like earlier, and he walked in and told her that he was going to break up with her.

How she broke down every time she said the word break up.

How she only fell asleep when Kenma was awake.

He wasn't tired anymore; he was worried.

When Yamamoto asked Kenma what he would like to do with (Y/N), he was conflicted. Part of him wanted to believe that it was a nightmare.

But perhaps it signified a possible event in the future?

Kenma shook his head, tightening his hold around (Y/N).

"No way," he muttered to himself, "No way would I ever do something like that."

Kenma had never really dreamed; it was rare for him to experience a whole story in his head while he was asleep. That's why when (Y/N) explained to him about her dream, he was astounded.

Dreams are imaginary events created by the mind that play through one's sleep. 

So, why did (Y/N) dream of Kenma breaking up with her?
