"... cannot afford mistakes, Draco, because if you are expelled-"

"I didn't have anything to do with it, all right?" Draco said angrily.

Truth was, Sabrina created this mess. A week ago, they went to Borgin and Burkes together; Draco because he wanted to ask him why the cabinet wasn't working, and Sabrina to find out what he was upto these days.

When she saw the necklace at the shop, she immediately wanted to buy it, but she haven't had enough money to afford it back then. Draco offered to buy it for her, but she said she would buy it herself. Then, she asked her aunt Zelda to send her some money for the necklace. Instead of sending her money, her aunt came to the shop herself, bought the necklace, and put a imperious charm on a girl to deliver the package to her.

Neither she nor Sabrina knew that the necklace was cursed, and even if they did, they wouldn't worry about it because they were specialists in performing counter-curses.

When Sabrina found out about the necklace, she asked her aunt about it. She said she just wanted to surprise her and added that the imperious charm meant no harm; it would eventually wore off after an hour. Sabrina had a big fight with her aunt after that, because she heard Potter accused him of the incident.

"I hope you are telling the truth, because it was both clumsy and foolish. Already you are suspected of having a hand in it." professor Snape said.

"Who suspects me?" he tried to keep the anger in his voice to hide his paranoia. He knew who suspected him. And it was not that he was afraid for himself, either. He was afraid that someone might figure out Sabrina's identity.

Professor tried to perform legilimency on him, but he blocked it.

"Ah... aunt Bellatrix had been teaching you Occlumency, I see. What thoughts are you trying to conceal from your master, Draco?"

First of all, Bellatrix didn't teach me anything. You really think Bellatrix would teach me something that would not be beneficial for the Dark Lord? I thought you were smart, Severus- he wanted to say, but instead said, "I'm not trying to conceal anything from him, I just don't want you butting in!"

"So that is why you've been avoiding me this term?" professor asked, trying to read the situation.

No, I'm avoiding you because I've got to work on something. I have to kill Dumbledore. And I can't have your assistance because no matter what my mother says, I don't trust you. You are Dumbledore's number one confident. And even if you weren't, I wouldn't want help because I don't want to give him another reason to punish me, to punish our family. I have to do this alone. I can't rely on you or Sabrina. And yes, Sabrina. I don't also want you or the Dark Lord to discover her.

"I swore to your mother I would protect you. I made the Unbreakable Vow, Draco-"

Draco felt like somebody punched him in the gut. So that's what his mother told Sabrina, that she would find a way to protect him. She made the Unbreakable Vow, THE UNBREAKABLE VOW!

Honestly, how many people did his mother needed to involve in this business before she finally stopped trying? Might as well ask the Dark Lord to help her son out and to kill Dumbledore himself.

"Looks like you'll have to break it, then, because I don't need your protection!" he tried to keep his tone as emotionless as possible; he certainly didn't want to express his vulnerability.

"What is your plan?"

Currently? To fix a damn cabinet!

"It's none of your business!" he shot back.

"You are being incautious, wandering around at night, getting yourself caught, and if you are placing your reliance on assistants like Crabbe and Goyle-"

"They're not the only once, I've got other people on my side, better people!"

People like Sabrina Spellman, who make Granger look like a joke.

"Then why not confide in me, and I can-"

There is no way he's gonna get off by back, Draco thought.

Why don't you understand, if I had wanted your help, I would have asked you. Please let me fight my own battle,
he wanted to say.

"I know what you're up to! You want to steal my glory!" he shot back instead and stomped out to make his DADA teacher silent and to leave him alone.

"I've been stupid enough my whole life to believe that we are one of the few closest people to his Dark Lord, and so I shall pay for it. For my own foolishness. Because I was an ignorant, blind jerk, and I couldn't get out of the comfort bubble that my family created for me.I never cared for heroism like Potter, though I admit that I was little jealous. I still am. He gets to make all kinds of right choices. And I'm always the bad one who couldn't meet anyone's expectation. Yes, I thought muggles weren't worth the status of a wizard/witch. Yes, I thought the Weasleys did a terrible job, betraying their blood status. But the more I get older, the more these feuds look meaningless to me. I only cared about status, and now it has been ripped off me. Therefore I'm pretty clueless about what to do. So I am doing the only thing that has been set up for me, a highly perilous job with thousands of complexity."

"Who you were talking to?" someone asked in a sweet but eerie voice.

Oh no, not Myrle again! he sighed. At this point Myrtle had more secrets of him than his own mother.

"Hello Myrtle," he said tiredly.

"Hi Draco!" she cooed. "Who you were talking to? Surely there aren't another ghost as beautiful as me lurking around in the castle?" she wailed.

"No, you're the only one." Draco assured her.

"Thanks. That's why I like you more than Harry, Draco." She zoomed in closer to him. "He hardly ever compliments me," she said in a melancholic tone. "Did I ever tell you that he once took a...bath, with me?"

"Yeah, you mentioned that couple of times already." Draco said. "Listen, I've got to go. The party must be near to an end now."

"Going so soon? But Draco, you only came!"

"Yeah, I've gotta be somewhere. It's important." he said before hurrying off.

He darted to the entrance of the party. Everyone had their shoes off before entering, so there was a pile of shoes stacked neatly beside the door.

He identified her's before he could finish gazing over all the shoes. It was a multicolored stiletto, with beads, and figures shaped like various animals and vegetables on it. The heel of the stilettos were sparkling with glitters.

'Wingardium Leviosa'

He made the stilettos float on the air. He directed them towards the hallway, and when he felt satisfied, he casted the  incarcerous spell to conjure ropes and to tie the shoes with the ceiling.

"Perfect." he smiled mischievously.
