-Flashback-
When I was seven, I was bullied. My parents brought me away from my previous neighbourhood, away from our old house. I never had any friends. For some reason the kids around me hated me a lot. They hated my long hair. They hated the way I spoke. I was always alone. Even as a young girl, I knew I was different from everyone. I predicted that moving away wouldn't solve the problem. The bullying would still go on. I was right. Even in this neighbourhood, I was the target. The victim.
" What are you doing here shortie?!" I looked up to see a group of girls surrounding me in an intimidating manner. A red haired girl stood out. Obviously, she was the leader. She approached me with a scissor in hand. "You're really an ugly girl aren't you . Let us teach you a lesson." she smirked while directing the others to grab a hold of me.
"No!!!Let me go !!!" I plead but it was useless. They started to tug on my hair. Pinning me down to the ground. I struggled, kicking them with all the strength I have left trying to get away. One of the girls got irritated and then proceeded to kick me in the stomach then laughed, content with her actions. Tears welled up in my eyes then trickling down my cheeks. Crying was seen as a sign of defeat and in response, my attackers began to laugh. Much to my dismay, the leader managed to cut my hair.
" You look prettier now loser." I watch on helplessly as the girl dropped a whole lock of my hair on the ground. The girl suddenly collapsed along with the rest dropping the scissor to the floor. Wait... what?
"Are you alright?" A dark haired boy appeared before me cloaked with a dark brown coat and a brown scarf wrapped around his neck. " Those girls are so mean."
He reached out his hand. I grabbed hold of it. Standing in front of me, he smiled looking at me intently. I can't help but be captivated by his ocean blue eyes. They shine even during this cold winter night. Its as if he was a guardian sent down from the moon. We stood still in silence until I let out a sneeze. Well that couldn't be helped. It was freezing cold and I was only wearing a thin blue pyjama dress since my original plan was to take a short walk because I couldn't fall asleep.
My saviour unwrapped the scarf from his neck and wrapped it around mine. He then took off his coat and placed it over my cold body. He must be at least two years older than me because his coat was huge! I grabbed hold of his hand wanting to tell him that I didn't need his coat but I was interrupted by his warm embrace. He hugged me. I was stunned. I could feel my face flush. " I will protect you Ferlicia, no matter where you are."
The last thing I remembered was his lavender scent and the warmth of his body holding me as I collapsed on the ground.
-End Flashback-
"What do you think you're doing?!" Ryan stormed into the room with my mum behind him. He took a big step and grabbed Callum away from me. My mum was puzzled at Ryan's actions. I guess Ryan's tall figure blocked her view preventing her from witnessing what was going on.
