(Song- I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift)

Hardin's POVHow could I have been such a fucking idiot?
I may have lost her if I didn't explain my carelessness. My mothers trust issues seep into my chest. Why must it be so difficult? It shouldn't be this hard. It doesn't have to be but somehow I can never allow myself to make it easy. I always want to test people and push them to their limits. Just so I can see how much of me they can handle before they give up like everyone else has.
But that's the thing I fear most for Ivory. I never want her to leave.
I pleasingly push a fake smile onto my face as I stare into the eyes of the man I hate more than anyone. Ken. My father.
"Glad you could make it, Hardin." He greets, his arm comes to wrap around my shoulders. I internally cringe as I take in the scenery, my eyes land upon his newly wed wife.
I can never hate Lisa. It isn't her fault what happened that night and it certainly isn't her fault that she allowed my father to sink his teeth into her.
But I guess you can't help who you fall for.
Liam, my new step-brother, stares in my direction. An empty smile rests on his face as he acknowledges my existence. He slowly begins to walk in my direction but I don't budge. I guess if he wants to talk to me he can, but I won't like it.
In my daze I begin to hear Ken mouth off about his fancy house and his multiple cars in the garage to some of his mates. He also chimes in about how Liam is the perfect student at the local college and how beautiful Lisa is.
My nostrils flare as my blood begins to boil beneath my flawed skin. I chew viciously on my bottom lip like a rabid dog as I try to keep my thoughts to myself.
But then I remember who the fuck I am.
"Could you just shut the fuck up?"
Ken's mouth remains open as he stares at me wide eyed, his half empty glass of whisky sits loosely in his hand.
"What did you just say, boy?" He's provoking me. I snort a laugh, how pathetic is this man?
"You heard me, old man." I spit through bore teeth, "How can you act this way? You're being so fucking insensitive! Or have you just forgotten?" I shout. My grip begins to tighten around the small glass in my hand.
Lisa's face has fallen and she is looking between my father and I. Concern is evident in her eyes and if I continue to look at her I will forget what I am even talking about.
"Hardin.. calm down. Come and talk to me outside." He says as he notices his wife's worry and I roll my eyes. So now he gives a fuck about treating woman right?
"Outside? Why not in here, huh?" I look around the room unbothered by the many eyes that are on me, "Are you embarrassed or something? I mean.. you fucking should be."
I walk closer to him only to watch him take a step away from me. I laugh tauntingly at his cowardly behaviour. And this man is supposed to be a highly ranked mobster? One of the most feared in London? My ass!!
"I thought you had moved on.. forgotten about it!" I feel my stomach drop. Forgotten. How can I ever fucking forget that? By the look on his face I can tell that he is regretting his choice of words.. as he should.
"You think I have forgotten? That I can just miraculously forget what they did to mum? You don't even fucking care! I mean look at you! A new family and a ridiculous fucking house. Look at what you're fucking wearing!" Unable to control my actions I pull my arm back and launch my glass at the wall. I watch contently as the glass splinters onto the floor and the alcohol seeps into the fresh wallpaper.
