It hurt him deep down. He wanted to. He really did. It was one of the best nights that he could remember so clearly yet... he didn't want it to end how it did last time. He wanted to say no to her but he also was torn because he didn't want her to be upset.

"We'll see, princess." That was the best answer he could give.

He turned and left without another word, disappearing into the night like a black cat in the night.

Three days went by and Adrien seemed to be fine. He treated her how he always did. Friendly. She changed, however. She wasn't as nervous around him, she didn't idealize him. She knew he was human as she was, he had his own flaws. He was afraid of thunderstorms as she was afraid of him knowing her true identity. She understood his reasoning behind his actions, though it still hurt regardless.

Adrien walked into the hallway and saw Marinette still sitting in class by herself even though the bell had rung 15 mins before. He thought it strange but figured she was upset about the conversation with her and Chat noir. He walked in and sat down beside her. Instead of freaking out that he was sitting beside her, she looked over at him and he could tell she was forcing a fake smile.

How much was she forcing? Was she always forcing herself to be happy and pretend? When was she really happy? Was Chat noir the only one that could really see her happy? She always acted comfortable and confident around him but seemed to be different around everyone else.

"Are you ok Marinette?" He asked.

"I'm fine Adrien. I thought you left already? Don't you have Chinese lessons this afternoon?" She asked.

She knew he had Chinese today? Did he tell her or something? Weird.

"Yeah I was supposed to but they were rescheduled." He smiled.

She didn't say anything. She remained quiet and distant.

"Um... well... would you like to..."

"I have to go, Adrien. I'll see you around." Marinette said, picking her things up and leaving.

"Marinette wait! Did I do something to make you mad at me?" He asked, seeing her eyes widen at the accusation.

"You..." She thought for a moment.

"You didn't do anything wrong. I... just have a lot on my mind." Marinette smiled, waving and left.

"Plagg, why is this so complicated?" Adrien groaned.

Plagg flew out of his pocket and shrugged, keeping quiet about the entire situation. He knew if he said anything to Adrien that Tikki would not be happy.

Later that day he snuck into Marinette's room. Marinette was sitting at her desk, working on her weather designs for the upcoming fashion show unaware that he was there. Chat noir was going to scare her to give her a good laugh as well as himself but decided to stand and look at her for a few seconds, but something caught his eyes. As he climbed down off the ladder and landed on her bed he saw a poster board that was sticking out from under her mattress. He took hold of it and pulled it out, revealing a picture poster board of her friends... her and... Adrien. A lot of Adrien, including hearts.

Did Marinette have a crush on Adrien? If that was the case, why did she act so cold to him today? Wait... if she had a crush on him, what about Chat noir? Well.. also him but still. She kissed him back as Chat noir. Was her crush on Adrien not that strong?

Wait what was he saying. He had a crush on Ladybug and still kissed Marinette. Kiss. Why did his heart flutter at the thought of kissing her again? He stuffed the poster board back into the mattress and jumped down on the ground, behind Marinette. He looked over her shoulder and was about to grab her shoulders for a scare but noticed her designs. Her fashion show weather designs were... a light grey jacket that faded to a dark black as if an ombre effect. The drawing held a black umbrella but the grip was a raindrop. The girl she drew wore white leggings with black lightning extending down the thighs. The design was amazing though and seemed a little dark.
