"We could go to Cabo. My grandparents have a house down there," Miley suggested to Joe as he continued to scroll down on his laptop.
It had been a month since the whole Selena incident. Her face had healed but she had an everlasting scar on her eyebrow and Miley was pleased with herself for that. Selena had wanted to press charges but there wasn't any evidence that Miley had been the one that gave her that scar and no one dared to speak against her so Selena was just left with her bruises and memories. Wilmer's funeral was coming up and Joe had devised the genius plan of taking Demi on vacation. She had been in a terrible mood lately. She didn't want to talk to anybody or do anything. She just wanted to lie around in bed and mope. Nobody blamed her but they wanted their Demi back, the life of every party.
"Um, that could be a good place. I dont care as long as she is relaxed and stress free," Joe looked at how much the plane tickets would cost. At this point he didn't even care, he just needed Demi back to her old self. It was three in the afternoon and she was upstairs sleeping with the blinds and curtains shut. It was like she was trying to shut off the entire world.
"Okay so it's me, you, Demi, Dallas, and Marissa. Demi's other friends can't come, they're staying back for personal reasons," Miley ran her fingers through her hair and looked at Joe's screen.
"I think a week there should be fine. If it's okay with your grandparents," Joe said as Miley nodded and went to the refrigerator, grabbing waters for her and Joe.
"Yeah I already told them. We just have to stock the fridge when we leave if we eat anything out of it and that's it. They have two maids there anyway," Miley shrugged and opened Joe's water for him before putting it in front of him.
"Hey guys," they heard Demi's hoarse voice before they saw her. And Miley would honestly tell her that she looked like a mess. Her black hair was greasy and falling out of her sloppy ponytail. She had bags under her eyes that were beginning to turn purple. Her usually light brown eyes were dead and drooping as she twitched the corners of her lips up into a smile.
"Hey Dems you look...terrible," Miley said as Demi rolled her eyes and grabbed an apple out of the bowl before leaning on the island.
"Thanks Miles," she bit into it and stopped the juice from running down her chin with her hands.
"What do you think about going on vacation?" Joe asked, reaching across and grabbing Demi's hand. She quirked her head but quickly shook it as Miley groaned.
"Wilmer's funeral is coming up and-"
"Demi we'll be back in time for it, I promise," Miley looked at Demi, not really paying attention to what Joe had said. Her best friend just looked so sad.
"Well where are we going?" Demi asked as Joe smiled and stood up, wrapping his arms around her and rubbing her back.
"Cabo!"

Demi smiled as the waves ran over her toes and washed the sand off of her feet. They had been in Cabo for three days and Demi could feel herself relaxing even more as the calm sea brushed against each other in gentle waves.
"Come swimming with me?" Joe asked, wrapping his arms around her baby bump as she smiled and nodded, letting him grab her hands and lead her further into the water.
"I'm so glad you made me come," Demi pecked his lips in appreciation. She wanted to stay there forever. There was no paparazzi to worry about, no rumors, no drama, it was just calm and peaceful. Even her fans that were here left her alone and just gave her polite waves and took pictures from far away. What more could she possibly ask for?
