" What was that thing? Was it even human," Marty asked as they drove down the road. He buckled his seat belt. The other two followed and put their seat belt on.
" I don't know." Jasmine said as she turned around to see if anyone was behind them," What does that to a person?"
" You guys don't get it," Stewart said," The Green Flu shows up, a week later people start attacking each other, and then mutant freaks show up. Coincidence, I don't think so."
" So you think this is all because of the Green Flu," Marty asked.
" Yeah I do."
" I had a hunch that this wasn't just another flu."
" So now that we established that there's a super flu that turns people into zombies and freaky mutants, what are we going to do now," Jasmine asked.
" We could go to my house," Marty said.
Marty told Stewart the address. Half way there Stewart turned on the radio.
" Hi and welcome to a CEDA special report of WSS radio news, I'm your newscaster, Amble Dare," she chirped from the radio. Her voice was strong and confident. She sounded like she was in her early 30's.
"Riots have been confirmed as the cause of the breech in the Westfield quarantine. The same riots then worked their way up to Forton, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake. Law enforcement and CEDA are working hard to contain the riots and to fix the quarantine. Law officials advise you to stay in your homes to avoid these riots. CEDA reminds you to be prepared, stay healthy and clean, and to have a nice day. This is Amble Dare with WSS radio news. Back to you Bob."
" What a load of crap," Stewart said as he turned off the radio, angered about the lies the media was spreading.
" LOOK OUT," Jasmine screamed as she pointed to the road.
Stewart snapped his vision back to the road only to see a round figure. The car hit the side of the figure. It exploded, splashing red-green liquid on the windshield, hood, and roof of the car. Blinded, Stewart swerved the car and then stopped. He engaged the windshield wipers.
" What the fuck was that thing," Stewart asked.
" Yuck! It smells horrible," Jasmine said as she pinched her nose.
No one was able to answer as the screams of the infected rang out all around them.
" Go! Go! Start the car," Jasmine yelled.
" It won't start," Stewart yelled back.
" What's wrong with it!"
" It's stalling!"
" What are we going to do. What are we going to do!"
" Open the sunroof," Marty yelled.
Stewart opened the sunroof and Marty fit through, baseball bat in hand. Infected were racing through the woods. Marty rose his bat for a swing. Instead of attacking Marty, the mob went straight for the dark green liquid scattered across the car and road. The mob grouped around the hood of the car. They scooped the liquid into their mouths. Marty and Jasmine were puzzled as to why they weren't being attacked. Stewart finally got the car to work, it sputtering and gasping to life. He backed up, avoided the mob and sped away.
" Did we really get out of that that easily? Why didn't they just climb into the car," Stewart asked.
" They were going after the slime from the big guy," Marty answered.
" That's it! Stewart, remember when we were at the salon, and a fat guy vomited all over a woman," Jasmine said.
" Yeah, so what?"
" The infected then attacked her. They must like the fatty's, uh, essesence."
" Like? More like go nuts over," Marty commented.
" So avoid the fat, puker guys at all times," Stewart said.
" So your saying there's going to be more of them," Jasmine asked.
" If there was two puker guys then there might be more. Not just them, but the thing at the house and the zombie Marty killed as well."
" What the hell are we dealing with," Jasmine asked.
