Stewart got up from the computer chair. He was feeling a little tired. He went over to the couch across from Jasmine. She looked like a sleeping child. He laid down. The long day of running had tired him out. He closed his eyes and dozed off. Marty, the only one still awake, dabbled over the camera until his stomach cried hunger. By then Marty fixed the camera the best he could. The main screen was cracked, disabling many of the features. Basically you could only take random pictures and use the flash. He looked at the clock. It read 9:56P.M. He'd been working for a long time. He got up and went to the pantry. He got a box of cookies. He was going to eat them, but he didn't feel that it was right for only him to be eating. He went into the living room and woke the other two up.
" Are you guys hungry," Marty asked Stewart and Jasmine.
" Yeah a little," they both answered.
" Well I got cookies."
" Cookies," Stewart replied, " not to be mean or anything, but how are we going to survive on just cookies?"
" Calm down boys. Didn't we pass a restaurant on the way here," Jasmine asked.
" Wait what? Yes you're right! God why didn't I think of this before."
" When we passed it I didn't see anyone inside. We might have to break in or go through a back door," Jasmine said again.
" Well I hope you guys like Burger Tank," Marty replied.
They took a few minutes to gather a few things. Marty kept his baseball bat, Jasmine the pistol, and Stewart took the machete. They also took some band aids, just in case. On the way out Marty found 2 flash lights, a normal hand held ones and a tiny one. Marty gave Stewart a regular flashlight and Jasmine the tiny flashlight. She connected it to her pistol. Marty went into the kitchen and got the camera. He gave it to Stewart.
" I was only able to fix the flash," Marty said.
" I'm surprised you even got the thing on," Stewart replied as he put the camera around his neck. Stewart lead the way out the door. The neighborhood was quiet. The ruffling of the leaves was the only noise that broke the silence. The distant Burger Tank sign was visible from the house. Marty locked the door and they started walking. Stewart and Jasmine turned on their flashlights. None of the houses they passed had their lights on or cars in the driveway. Maybe they escaped. They were halfway there when they heard a loud bang. The three ducked down, hidden by the blanket of darkness.
" What was that," Jasmine asked.
" Should we turn back," Marty asked after her.
" No, stay low and quiet," Stewart answered.
They slowly walked to the restaurant. When they got to the front door they saw a troubling scene; a dead zombie lying on the floor.
