" How do you suppose we do that," Marty asked.
" Easy. We arm ourselves and get out of the city." Stewart answered." With my car dead, we're going be walking, unless you have a car."
" We can't. Someone stole my car a week ago. I've been using a cab to get everywhere. Was a damn good car too, could of held all of us."
" What do we do now? We have no car, no weapons, and no supplies," Jasmine asked.
" We still have the baseball bat, Marty answered. And I'm pretty sure I have an ax in my basement. I also have some hand sanatizer we could fashion moltovos out of. And my neighbor, Mrs. Patterson is home. She has a gun. She should also has medicine, food, and a car."
" Good, we might have a chance now," Jasmine said.
" I'll go and get Mrs. Patterson, Stewart said, " Jasmine and you will get the ax and make the molotov's"
They got up from the couch.
" Be careful Stewart," Jasmine said.
" Don't worry, I got this."
Stewart exited the house through the patio and walked across the yard and into Mrs. Patterson's house. Marty led Jasmine through the kitchen and to the cellar door. The basement was ominous and unsettling.
" You go first," Marty said.
" Why, it's your basement," Jasmine answered back.
" I think I left a door opened down there."
" Then we go together."
The two interlocked arms and started down the stairs. It was awkward at first but then they got the hang of it. They unlocked arms and searched the basement. The basement was dim, the only lights comming in through the 2 windows and door on the right side. The ax lay slanted on the side of a post holding the house up. Jasmine grabbed it. Meanwhile, Marty went to a table behind the stairs. On it was a large bottle of hand sanitizer and basement junk. He picked it up and met Jasmine back at the stairs.
" That wasn't so bad," Marty said, " now all we need is is bottles and rags, which I have both."
They walked up the stairs, one at a time this time. They got to the top of the stairs and opened the door.
" Okay, look in the closet by the china cabinet. There will be a bag near the trash basket. Get it and bring it out here," Marty told Jasmine.
Jasmine went to the closet and opened the door. On the left side on the door frame was a pencile sharpener. On the left wall was shelves with a assortment of pans, cookbooks, and newspaper. Under the shelves was a black garbage bag. Jasmine looked inside the bag. It contained a variety of beer bottles.
" Holy crap Marty. How are you even able to stand?"
" They're not mine," Marty said as he sat down at the table," people like to litter around my house so I collect them to return for money."
" Oh, sorry," Jasmine said as she picked up the garbage bag, glass clacking and zinging. It wasn't heavy for it only held 10 bottles. She walked over to the table and pulled each bottle out one by one and gave them to Marty, who filled them halfway. He was only able to fill 4 with hand sanatizer. He then open the cabinet under the sink and got out 4 rags. He picked up a bottle and stuck a rag into the opening. He did it for the rest of the bottles. The idle chatter of the tv turned into a special news report. Jasmine and Marty walked into the living room and sat on the couch. The screen showed Amble Dare sitting behind a newscaster's desk.
" This is Amble Dare with WSS News. The Green Flu, thought to be just another flu, but because of loyal viewers we can finally unmask it for what it really is. The flu is actually the cause of the riots of Westfield and Forton. Furthermore, the accusations about the virus mutating are indeed correct and I have picture evidence to prove it. I warn you, the images that are going to be shown are-"
" Close the door!"
" Oh no they're coming!"
" Hold it shut so they can't come in!"
The camera paned off set to 3 faceless news crew holding back double doors. The crew struggled to hold back the door. Rhythmic pounding echoed throughout the set. The camera panned back to a worried Amble Dare.
" If you are watching this, stay away from any sick individuals. Husband, wife, children it doesn't matter! Just stay away!"
Amble dare then got up from her seat and ran off set, careful not to trip on any wires. The crew couldn't hold the doors. They let go and ran away, realeasing the horde. The camera zoomed in on a crawling zombie. It jumped releasing a piercing scream as hit the camera. The camera fell and the screen went black.
