Fun Fair

5 days later (The Friday before the date)
"Riley where's my shirt, I only bought it on Sunday"
"Calm down mom! It's in your hand!"
Janet looked down at her hand, almost not believing Riley but her child was right.
"Oh"
"Mom why are you so stressed? You're more stressed than you were for your first date"
"Because... I actually don't know its just, you'll understand when you're older"
"Mk"
It was currently 7pm, Janet had plenty of time to get ready, she was going to do her hair and hairspray it so she didn't have to do it in the morning (I do this so it does work lol).
"Riley where's my straightener"
"It's on your window sill..." The toddler was getting used to this already and knew she would have to.
"Okay" Janet took a deep breath, hung up her clothes and began curling her hair. She sprayed on the heat protection spray, looked in the mirror and parted her hair, half an half making sure it would look perfect for the next day.
It took about 20 minutes to do her whole head, when finished, Janet made some homemade burgers and chips, cooked them and served them up for her and her daughter.
"So what are you planning on doing at Uncle Chad's?"
"I want to tell scawy stories and watch Fwozen"
"Oh ok"
"Glad I'm not here for that" Janet whispered under her breath, making sure Riley didn't hear her, she really didn't like frozen but Riley was more then obsessed.
"Where are you going with Katrina"
"I'm not sure, but she said not to wear anything fancy so maybe an outdoor place or a dancing place?"
Riley nodded and carried on eating her burger, getting fuller from every bite.

20 minutes after dinner was finished

"Riley we are getting up at about 8 tomorrow so lets go to bed, I wanna make sure you get enough sleep"
"Otay!"
They both changed into their pajamas, brushed their teeth, set alarms and went to sleep.
Janet and Riley slept peacefully through the night.

In the morning

"Riley, time to wake up"
This was the first time in her whole life that Janet was waking up Riley, not vise versa. It was a rare thing to do and very strange.
"Otay" Riley replied in a very tired, grumbling voice, she had just woken up after all.

Janet went back to her room, got into her nice, new shirt and black cuffed jeans, prepped up her hair to make it perfect, applied some concealer, blush, highlighter, eyeliner and mascara and went to check in Riley.
"Riley, I told you to get up 40 minutes ago!"
Her reply was a small mumble.
"Get up please we have to leave in half an hour and you still have to get dressed and eat"
Another mumble came from the girl in the bed.
"I'm coming back in here in 10 minutes, I want you to be dressed by then please"
What this meant to Riley was that she could stay in bed for 8 minutes and then rush getting dressed which is exactly what she did but she was ready by the time Janet came back in.
"Good girl, go brush your teeth and then you can have some bacon I cooked for breakfast"
Riley's face lit up, she ran energetically to the bathroom and did what she was told before grabbing 3 pieces of bacon and stuffing almost a whole piece of it on her mouth at once.
"It's 9:20, Katrina is picking me up at 10 so we gotta leave soon for you to get to Uncle Chad's in time"
"Otay, I'm gonna get my bag and then we can leave"
They both collected their bags and started on their trip to Chad's House.
Riley was dropped off and Janet got back home with 10 minutes to spare.
She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, her bag, some money and her coat.
"Alright, drink, check, bag, check, money, check, coat, check, keys" She looked around hastily and grabbed her keys when they came into view "Check".

Knock knock knock

"Hello Janet"
"Hey Katrina"
"Is there anything I ne-" She couldn't even finish her sentence before Katrina was pulling her to the car.
"So, where are we going"
"You'll see"
Katrina really wanted to keep it a secret, she was very excited for this and hoping Janet would be too when she saw where they were going.
The car ride consisted of both of them catching up from the past week and any plans they had for later on, it lasted about half an hour before Janet noticed something in the distance.
"Is that a ferris wheel?"
"You'll see" It was basically in sight by now but Katrina wanted to see Janet's reaction, knowing she would be more excited when seeing it herself.
"is that a fun fair?"
"Yep"
Janet's face lit up.
"I love the fun fair"
Katrina laughed, the inner child in Janet came out.
"I know"
She parked the car and looked at the other.
They smiled at each other, exchanged eye contact and jumped out the car.
The sight was beautiful, a large ferris wheel towered over rides of all colours and styles. Some spun, some dropped, some twisted, the variety of rides sent a spark of adrenaline through the two.
"I bought tickets online so that'll save some time, what do you want to do first?"
Janet investigated each ride she could see, like it was a very big choice. One ride looked really fun.
"That one" Her finger pointed towards the waltzers, a ride that spun as your little 'box' you were in spun. (The image cover is a picture of this ride).
"Alright"
Katrina presented her tickets to the kiosk at the front and they entered the park. There were so many rides than it looked like before they entered.
Janet pulled Katrina to the waltzers, it had just ended for the people before which was perfect. They climbed up and sat on a black lather seat, waiting for it to begin.
