Unexpected Encounter

During the ride, Janet held tight onto Katrina's hand, it was a fast ride after all.
"That was great"
"I think you squeezed my hand too tight" Katrina laughed at how scared Janet was on the waltzers.
"Oh... Sorry"
"Haha no it's okay, I'm glad you enjoyed it" they sent a warm, comforting smile each other's way until the ride operator interrupted the moment.
"You can hop out, have a good day" He was kind, a lot of people at the fair were.
"Thank you, you too" Janet responded, holding onto the others hand.
"Okay, what do you want to do next?" Katrina wondered, looking around for any good rides.
"You pick"
"Okay...." it took her a moment before she spotted something she wanted to go on, her face looked the same as when Janet saw the waltzers.
"That one?" Her strong Russian shon through, she pointed to her ride of choice.
"Yea" Janet was only scared of one ride and it was this one - 'Tower of terror', she gulped, looking up at the tall building in the shape of a haunted mansion.
They were in the line now, there was no backing out.
It was a long wait, it looked like hundreds of people were in front of them even though it was only about 30. Suddenly, a certain someone peered out of the line to look behind her and it definitely was a familiar face, in fact, it was a familiar family face.
"Marie" Janet swallowed the name with a sigh.
"What?" Katrina looked across to the other who was looking down in either sadness or disbelief, it wasn't clear which one.
"Marie is here"
"Oh, do you want to go?"
"No no, I'm not going to let my sister ruin this already amazing day" She lifted her head back up and tried to forget that her selfish, sarcastic sister was less than 10 metres away.

Just like she had done before, Marie looked behind her, who was she looking for? Janet wondered.
The realisation soon came, not only was Marie there but Marie was there whilst she was with Katrina.
She gasped and began freaking out inside.
"Katrina"
"Yes?"
"Marie is here"
"I know, you told me"
"No! Marie is here"  she flicked her finger between the two of them to indicate what she meant.
It took Katrina a moment but Janet knew she had realised what she meant when the same gasp came from her mouth.
"What do we do?"
"I guess we can just say we are hanging out as friends if she asks"
"Yes good plan, but we should probably say it anyway because she might not ask"
"have you met my sister? She's going to ask"

Katrina nodded in agreement and ran the excuse over and over in her head, making sure she didn't mess up, they hadn't even been noticed yet though.

"Janet?" Now they had been noticed.
"Marie?" Janet was playing this off the best she could.
"What are you doing here? I didn't know you left the house"
Janet sent her a mocking smile, "just came here with Katrina"
"Oooo sounds cute"
"What?"
"Cute date place"
"We came here cus it has my favourite ride, we're just friends"
This is the part where Marie would say okay but not believe her sister but this time she sounded genuine.
"Okay, well have a nice time, I bet its hard to adapt to the sun after being inside for months"
"Shut up"
"Oh hey Ben" Janet, Katrina and Marie all looked to the entrance of the line as Marie said that.
"I'm guessing that's her boyfriend"
"mhm"
"Let's not say anything" They were going to mock Marie due to everything she does to Janet and sometimes Katrina but couldn't be bothered at this point.

The line started to move, Marie was on the ride with her partner and Janet and Katrina were next to go.
Loud screams came from every angle of the house, Janet's heart dropped, she had forgotten they were going on this ride during the unexpected interaction.
"Alright ladies, your turn, hop in the front of the cart over there please" The instructor gave them what to do and they did so.

"Hey, u alright?" Katrina saw Janet looking worried as she stared into the black, where the rails lead.
"Yea yea I'm good" She forced a smile to seem like she was telling the truth, it didn't work though, Katrina knew her too well.
"You can hold my hand and squeeze it whenever you need to, you'll be okay when it starts"
"Thank you"
The ride started just as Janet finished speaking, it was slow at first but picked up the pace.
The wind brushed through their golden hair, causing it to hover at the back of their heads.

It began to slow down again, the drop was coming, the one that makes your stomach turn upside down for a moment.

Whoosh

Screams came from every position in the cart as the ride dropped down through the tower.
Overall, Tower of terror lasted about a minute which was decently long for a ride.

"So, what did you think, you didn't squeeze my hand much so I'm guessing it wasn't that scary"

"I actually enjoyed it, thank you"

They went on about 5 more rides around the fair before deciding to get some lunch.
"I'll have a tray of chips and a hamburger please"
"I'll just have a burger"
They both told the person working at the food cart.
She gathered their food requests and put them in the designated trays.
"That'll be $8 please, card or cash?"
"Card if that's alright" Katrina quickly replied.
"Katrina I'll pay"
"No Janet It's fine I will"
"No I'm going to pa-" Katrina swiped her card, put in the pin and smirked at Janet.
"Oops, already payed, sorry" she said sarcastically, they both laughed.
"Thank you"
"No problem"
Both women took their food and placed it down on a table, taking a seat each. It was around 2pm so they still had a lot of the day left.

A/n so when I planned this out, the date was going to be one chapter but now it's turned into 3 chapters so there's gonna be more than 17 chapters, which I guess is a good thing 😂

Also, are you guys alright with swearing? Not too much just a bit now and then to make Katrina sound more vicious and protective 😂
