Can We Wake Up Now?

"If you actually held me you would crush me"

It had a few weeks since Newt had been living with the humans and he felt at home with everyone there. Gally still hadn't warmed up to him since every time he looked at him all he saw was Aris and not him.  Chuck and him had become friends and they talked about all of Newt's past lives and the stories of them, he had told him that Aris was still alive and Chuck promised to keep it a secret. Thomas had been the most friendly towards Newt from the first time he showed up here, they had gotten closer and Newt started feeling the way he felt towards Gally towards Thomas and that scared him a little. Aris had tried to stop insulting him and had actually been nice to him for once.

Newt walked around the cave carrying boxes that he said he could carry on his own but kept almost falling over with how heavy the boxes were. He almost fell over before someone caught him and the boxes fell to the floor. As he looked up he saw Thomas smiling down at him.

"Hey there, I didn't think you would fall for me this quick" Thomas said with a smirk which made Newt roll his eyes with a smile before getting himself up.

"Very funny Tommy" He told him as he went to pick the boxes back up.

"Here let me help you" He said, picking the boxes up.

"You don't need to help me with this" He told him.

"No it's fine, you seemed to be having trouble with it anyway" He said as he started walking Newt behind him. "I was actually looking for you" He said as he looked over at Newt.

"Really? Why?" He asked him as they walked around the cave.

"Oh I wanted to show you something outside" He said as he placed the boxes down with all the other ones.

"I'm not allowed outside and you know that Tommy, some people still don't trust me around here so I'm only allowed inside" 

"I'll cover you're eyes so you can't see the way out" Thomas put his hands over Newt's eyes with a smile. "See? You can't see anything" Newt chuckled lightly and pulled Thomas' hands from his eyes looking up at him.

"Fine, but if we get in trouble I'm not against throwing you under the bus" He said as they started walking. Thomas kept his hands over Newt's eyes as they walked towards his favourite spot. Once they were outside Thomas removed his hands and Newt gasped at the amazing view that he could see. The sun hit the orange rocks on the clifs and it made them shine like fire.

"So what do you think?" Thomas asked, putting his hands on Newt's shoulders looking at him.

"It amazing, I can see why this is your favourite spot around here" He says looking up at Thomas who smiled down at him.

"I told you you'd love it" He said sitting down on the ground looking out at the sun. "Join me?" Newt smiled and sat down next to Thomas and looked out at the bright distance around them. 

"The people around here don't trust me that much, still think I'm going to call the rest of the Souls and get them to come here and kill them" Newt said making Thomas look at him. "Cause all they see is something ugly"

"I don't think you're ugly" He says to him. "I think you're beautiful" Newt looks at him with a sad look.

"You don't like me, you like this body, if you actually held me in your hands you would crush me" He said to him and Thomas moved forward.

"I don't like you for the body you are in, I like you for you. It's just you" Thomas put his hand on Newt's cheek and rubbed it lightly with his thumb. "All I see is you" He then kissed him and Newt slowly kissed back.

"What are you doing? This is so wrong, what about Gally!?"

Newt pulled back and looked at him.

"We can't do this, Aris is here" He says panting lightly.

"Couldn't Aris just look away for a few seconds?" Newt chuckled.

"I don't think that's how it works" Thomas chuckled and kept Newt close before kissing him again.

"This isn't right! Your not even human! I'll do something! I'll hurt him!" Newt pulled away again and took a breath. 

"That's enough for now" Later that day Newt was telling the stories to Mary, Chuck, a boy he had met called Minho and Thomas. They all loved to hear the stories of Newt's past lives when he lived on different planets. Chuck always was the one who asked Newt to tell them and everyone would always come over to listen to them as he told them.

"Why is it out here?" Newt stopped talking and looked over at the voice and saw Gally standing there with two other guys, they had been out on a suppliy run and had just got back.

"Gally, Newt isn't hurting anyone by being here" Mary said to him.

"It should be in it's cell not out here where it could do who knows what to any of our people" Thomas glared at Gally and Newt just didn't look at him. "It needs to be put down" He pulls out his gun but Chuck runs out and stands in front of Newt.

"Gally wait, you can't!" Gally looks at Chuck shocked and he lowers the gun a bit.

"Why shouldn't I? That thing killed the man I loved, you're own brother Chuck!"

"I'm right here, I wish you could hear me" Newt felt bad for Aris, he was the only one who could hear him and it made it hurt that he couldn't just tell them he was there.

"You can't kill Newt because if you do..." Newt's eyes widened at what Chuck was saying and he shook his head at him.

"Don't do it Chuck, don't tell them" Aris begged to Chuck from his head and for once Newt agreed with what he was saying. He looked over at Newt and Newt prayed that he wouldn't say anything and keep it a secret.

"If you kill Newt you kill Aris too" Newt gasped lightly and looked at Gally panicked. Gally looked at the younger boy confused.

"What do you mean Chuck?" He asked, looking at Newt then back at Chuck.

"Aris is alive"
