Jason, Timothy and Stephanie came back home after a long mission with the Titans.
Jason and his team went with them for backup.
Cass and Barbara finished their mission in Hong Kong, so they are home too.
Bruce was at work, he was worried, but that's no surprise. He didn't tell the others about their oldest's and youngest's brothers' mission.
So he isn't too exited entering his home to see them all sitting on the dinner table chatting and laughing at each other. He didn't want to ruin the atmosphere. But he had to tell them.
They won't be happy, he was sure of that.
He was sure the others would be as worried as him when hearing the news.
"Well, hello old man" Stephanie greets, being the first one to notice his presence. The others greet him too.
Bruce greets her back silently, joining them on the table.
He did not know how to start the conversation. But luckily Barbara did.
"So where's Damian and Dick? Are they late again?" she asks, clearly confused.
The others look at Bruce for an answer.
He takes a deep breath before saying "They are on a mission." He hesitates "In... Nanda Parbat."
Everyone else gasps. "You... SENT THEM WHERE?!" Stephanie asks in both anger and fear.
"Bruce you know exactly who is in Nanda Parbat!" Jason yells in both frustration and fear.
"Bruce are you for real? That place is even more dangerous than Gotham!" Selina adds.
Bruce sighed in exhaustion, he expected this reaction. But he couldn't blame them. Even if the titans are a really powerful team, Nanda Parbat has some of the best assassins. They can trick you better than any Gotham or Metropolis villain can.
"They are the youngest heroes we have. Why didn't the Justice league just send a more experienced team?" Barbara replies frowning.
"The titans were the only team available. And we had to send them as soon as possible. The threat was something different... Something we are not used to," he explains, trying to convince them (which failed).
"Wait is this mission related to the killing spree in Central City last week? They were two assassins with extraordinary powers right?" Jason asks, internally hoping this isn't the mission, those two assassins (or whatever they were) are dangerous, he saw it on news. The things they did were cruel and disgusting.
What's worst is, they did it for no reason. They didn't steal money nor kill someone for revenge (which they could have easily done). It felt like they did it for attention.
Or maybe worst,
a trap?
Before he could overthink, Bruce cut him off, "Yes, this is the mission. The two assassins left right away. We think it's teleportation or some kind of magic." He tells them.
It was something none of them has ever faced before. Which made things worst.
"And you thought it was a good idea to send the Titans to an unknown threat?" Tim asks face showing nothing but fear. After all, they all heard of the killing spree on news. It was terrifying, even for them.
"It wasn't my idea to send them. I simply agreed to it... and... well, it is not exactly an 'unknown' threat. We, or more specifically, the Titans found out the identity of one of the assassins and it's not good news." Bruce hesitates, he doesn't want to tell them Damian's panic attack a few days ago, especially its cause.
