You, Denki and Mitsuki have been called to the Hokage's office, alongside Udon-Sensei
"You three are going to work as a team to infiltrate a facility." Naruto stated
"We have reason to believe that there are illegal trades going on there and we need you to investigate and take it down, if necessary." Shikamaru added
Denki raised his hand.
"What's the issue?" Naruto asked
"I was just wondering why you needed me for this mission?" Denki asked
"Out of all our genin, you're the most adept with technology. We need you to oversee communications" Naruto replied
After your briefing, you walk out with your group.
"Ok you guys, I'll give you 2 hrs to prepare and then we'll meet at the gate." Udon-Sensei said
"Right" All three of you replied.
(Time Skip)
You arrive with Denki at the front gate to see Mitsuki and Udon-Sensei waiting.
"Ahh just in time. Let's head out" Udon-Sensei said as the three of you left the village
Halfway to your destination, Denki coils over and falls to his knees. On instinct, you turn around and rush to his aid.
"Sorry, I'm not used to long journeys" Denki apologized as he stood up with your aid.
"No worries. We're halfway there anyway. Let's camp here." Udon-Sensei replied.
So you and your team set up camp for the night.
Later in the night, you and your team are sitting around the fire, roasting the fish Udon-Sensei managed to catch and just talking with each other until you all fall asleep. Later into the night, at almost midnight, you wake up and get out of bed, careful not to wake anyone up and take a walk.
You spend almost an hour sitting by the riverbank until you hear a voice behind you.
"Kazuma?" The voice said
You turned around to see Denki behind you in his pajamas
"Hey Denki. Sorry if I woke you up" You said turning back to the the river.
"Can I join you?" Denki asked
"Of course" You replied as Denki took a seat next to you
"What's on your mind?" Denki asked, noticing the state you're in.
"I just... I've been thinking about everyone close to me. I mean, I never had parents or someone special to look after me when I was growing up..." You said as you looked to the sky and continued,"... And then I came to this village, met Boruto and the others, met you and realized that you all occupy a special place in my heart now. But bad things happen one way or another and I don't know what I'd do if something happened to anyone close to me, especially you..." You said as you looked back at the river. "I wouldn't be able to love with myself. I'd lose myself to my past rage" You said.
You turned to Denki and saw him looking at the water, with tears in his eyes
"I-Im s-sorry you h-had to go through that. But I genuinely w-want y-you to know th-that we all l-love and accept y-you from the bottom of our hearts, especially me" Denki sniffled
"Denki..." You whispered with tears forming in your eyes
The two of you began to lean in for a kiss when suddenly your Byakugan activated
"That's weird. I didn't activate my Byakugan just now. Why did it do it by itself? Wait... Is that a....!" You thought
"Denki look out!" You said as you pushed Denki out of the way of a flying kunai however instead of hitting Denki, the kunai buried itself deep in your abdomen.
Your Byakugan deactivates and your vision hazes as you fall to the ground.
You look up to see Denki being hoisted by several masked bandits and being taken away.
"Kazuma!!" Denki yelled out to you as he was being taken away
"Denki!!...Aagh!" You yelled but was interrupted when you felt another sharp pain in your chest. You were passing out.
You reached your hand out to Denki."Don't go... Don't leave... Please...." You whispered before losing consciousness.
"I never wanted a child like you..."
"He's from a different village.."
"He doesn't belong here..."
"No... Please stop..." Your thoughts ran wild
"Where did he get that Byakugan?"
"How did he become a chunin. He doesn't deserve it..."
