At eight o’clock the next morning, with a slight hangover, Harry found himself stuffed inside a fury suit, massive chipmunk head resting in his arms as he stared at Niall dance around the dressing room.
“Basically,” Niall was saying, as he weaved in and out of the Winnie-The-Pooh set, who all rolled their eyes at him, “Just wag your ass and clap your hands a lot. Kids dig that. Kiss their cheeks, girls, no matter what age, love that. Guys, not over the age of twelve. I had a fourteen year old punch me for that a week ago.”
Harry winced and stared down at the big Dale head, frozen cartoon eyes looking up at him.
“Don’t let Niall scare you,” a light hand rested on his shoulder and Harry turned to see Louis, dressed in full Peter Pan gear, pointy shoes and all, “Remember what I said, just listen to a fourth of that.”
Harry laughed, perhaps a bit louder than what was considered normal, but Louis’ eyes just twinkled as he grinned back at Harry. A girl, dressed in a blue nightgown suddenly appeared behind Louis and tapped his shoulder expectantly.
Louis turned around quickly and his smile faltered, for only a split second, before it returned.
“Morning babe,” he greeted the girl, pecking her lips and Harry’s smile fell from his face.
He hadn’t been prepared for that, and suddenly the weight of reality crashed through the Magical World of Disney’s protective shield and onto Harry’s shoulders.
He’d only known Louis for a day, why the hell had he assumed Louis was gay, or interested in him.
Because he is the Magical World tried to say inside his mind, but Harry pushed it away, instead attempting to force a smile back on his face.
“I’m Harry,” Harry said politely sticking out his hand and the girl hesitated for just a split second before sticking out her hand, fake smile pulling on her lips.
“Eleanor, or Wendy, for this one,” she cooed, pecking Louis on the cheek, “Lovely to meet you. We must be off, Character Breakfast to attend.”
She tugged on Louis’ hand and turned away without another word. Louis turned over his shoulder and mouthed an apology before he was dragged out of the room, away to Neverland or wherever the hell a Character Breakfast with Peter Pan would be.
“Best put your head on mate,” Niall suddenly appeared, “The battle is about to begin.”
Harry paled slightly, looking down at the oversized head in his hands, “Battle?” he asked meekly and Niall nodded.
“Character Breakfast.”
-o-
It turns out Disney has two Character Breakfasts in Magic Kingdom alone. The one in the castle is the one the Prince and Princess’ attend, as well as Wendy and Peter, and Alice and the Mad Hatter, who are apparently considered royalty.
The other Character Breakfast, was the cheaper one, and rightfully so, as no Prince or Princess’ attended this one, but rather the fury creatures that were nothing more than teenagers sweating under giant bobble heads.
“Don’t leave me side,” Niall hissed, as they stood right behind the Character entrance to the restaurant. “And remember, Dale is a cheeky ass. Don’t forget to play the part.”
“Right,” Harry muttered, taking a deep breath and following Niall’s lead, sliding Dale’s head over his own head, and entering into the sea of chaos.
Niall led them straight to a table, where three young boys, in identical tie-dye shirts sat, eyes wide as they stared at the approaching chipmunks.
