"Her name is Eleanor Faith Gibbs. 'Ellie' for short." That was the only memory I had of my mother. It was faint but every time I thought about it, it gave me a sense of safety and comfort. It told me I would be okay. My mother named me after my half-sister and her best friend, Eleanor Bishop.
My mother, Jacqueline Marie Sloane, died after giving birth to me, 27 years ago. The only gift I had from her was my name. From what I hear from my father, Jethro Gibbs, she was any amazing woman. She served in the army and then found her way to NCIS. She was a fighter.
My parents clicked the minute she arrived. They were meant to be together. I have a half-sister named Faith. She was my mother's first born. She gave birth to Faith before she enlisted in the army. Even though I only have met my father, I feel like I have a strong connection to my mother.
