When I was younger I had always wondered what it was like to find my mate, my one true love.. I used to call him my protecter because he was going to be there forever to save me from everything that this ridiculous life threw at me.
After I turned fifteen I stopped believing the fairytale that the wolves would tell everywhere I travelled and I realised even if I had found my mate he would reject me. Why? Because I was a rogue.. Not that it was really my choice.
****FLASHBACK****
"Mommy tell me a story" My four year old self called out to my mother excitedly. "Okay baby" she said, lifting my up into her arms as she started to rock me back and forth "Once upon a time there lived a princess inside a deep dark castle, kept there by some very bad people until one day her prince found her, when they met she could feel a strange pull to him and when they touched she felt tingles up her arm.. Somehow she knew that he loved her and he was going to be hers forever, they escaped from the castle and lived together happily ever after with all of the other wolves in the forest" Mom whispered, kissing the top of my head. "Mommy how did she know that he loved her?" I asked with my eyebrows furrowed in a look of confusion "Because they were mates sweetheart, you will understand much better when you're older.. Your father and I are mates and I hope that one day in the future you will find yours" she replied to me.
****FLASHBACK ENDED****
I had completely zoned out and I hadn't realised the short red head standing at the door "Hey I'm Cammie" she said with a genuine smile before walking over to me and handing me a tissue "I'm Katie.. What's this for?" I asked her stupidly "You're crying" she said with a slight look of pity in her eyes but I could see that she was trying to cover it up "Oh.. Thanks" I said, wiping under my eyes I hadn't even realised that I had been crying in the first place.
