My fingers curled around the hilt of a knife loosely, carefully taking it off the table.

Any other day before this, I would be ecstatic to do what I'm about to do, but now, I'm not willing to do this.

A heavy sigh forced it's way out of my lips as I slowly approached the arena.

I will not give Evil the pleasure of watching me kill him. I will not give her what she wants.

Evil smirked maliciously at me as I walked into the massive arena.

Dagger stood across from me, eyes studying me warily.

"It's okay, Riles. You can kill me," he whispered, although the pain was clear in his eyes.

I carefully raised the knife, holding it so the blade was pointed at Dagger's chest.

CLANK

The knife fell from my grasp, onto the concrete floor.

"Riley what are you doing?" Dagger whispered, eyes wide.

"I refuse to do your bidding Evil. I will not stoop to your level." I stated defiantly.

The alter growled at me. "He'll come back, Riley. No one stays dead in the mansion."

I shot a glare at her. "It's still murder."

She sighed in mock annoyance and raised her hand in my direction, eyes focusing on me.

Suddenly, I found I was no longer moving on my own consent.

My body slowly bent down and grasped the knife's hilt before straightening again.

"Riley?" Dagger asked, fear shinning in his silver eyes.

"No!" I yelled, sticking my heels into the ground, "I refuse to kill him!"

Evil narrowed her red eyes, her hand balling into a fist. "Everyone has to kill the ones they care about most."

My body started to walk towards Dagger, the knife clutched tightly in my hand.

I grit my teeth together and made the knife disappear, Evil releasing me right after.

"I'm not doing your bidding Evil."

She sighed angrily. "Fine. If you won't kill him, I will."

Before I had time to protest, the alter had teleported behind Dagger and stabbed him in the back.

"Dagger!" I cried, running to his side as Evil teleported back to her spot.

"R-Riley. I-I'll be okay. I-I'll be back," Dagger whispered breathlessly, the color draining quickly from his face.

I shook my head and gently held him close. "Don't leave me, Dagger. Please don't leave me with that monster."

He forced out a pained laugh and gently grasped my hand. "I-It'll be okay."

Tears filled my eyes, streaking down my face.

Dagger shakily reached up and caressed my cheek. "Don't cry Riley. It'll be okay."

I hugged him tightly. "I-I don't want to let you go."

He softly kissed my lips, drying my tears weakly with his thumb. "I love you Riley."

And with that, he fell limp in my arms.
