Aerin's POV

A week later, everyone's starting to talk about prom. It's only a Monday morning and I'm already so tired, I usually like Mondays but this Monday wasn't it. I'm currently seating beside the window in my English class where we usually just talk about the underlying meanings of a piece of literature. I mean, what if the authors genuinely just wanted to write and you make it seem more complicated than that? Anyway that was the last bit of thought I had before the bell rang, lifesaver.

My next class was calculus which obviously I tried to pay so much attention to because if I don't, I'm gonna fail this whole class. After that was one of my AP classes which was AP Biology. The classes went by fast to my liking and I was now sitting on our table at the cafeteria.

"Did you know Reanna got asked to prom?" Kasper gossiped with Fionne.

"Yeah, so did Aliyah, she actually-"

I stopped listening and focused on my groggy pizza that I bought a minute ago. "Hey" I jumped and was about to curse when someone pecked me on the lips. Z smiles and sits beside me.

"You gotta stop doing that I swear to God!"

"Or what?" I rolled my eyes.

"Aren't you gonna ask me out for prom like these cliché seniors do?" I winked.

"Nah that's too cringe and I don't need to ask, you're going with me" Z wraps his arm around my shoulders and we joined their conversation.

After class we all finally decided to hang out and go to the park, this is the first time in forever that we all hanged out so it was refreshing for every single one of us. I don't know why but I found a picnic blanket inside my trunk so that's what we used. Also we dropped by the 7/11 just 10 mins ago just so we can have something to snack on.

We were talking about how awesome Birds of Prey was when Z tapped me on the shoulder. "What?" I asked whilst still focusing on what Elise had to say about the movie. He tapped me again on the shoulder and I got annoyed.

"What?!" I raised my voice just a little so my friends wouldn't notice. "Come" he grabs my hand and I immediately stood up. I nodded and smiled at the girls before running with Z.

"Where are we going?" I asked panting, we ended up stopping by this big ass tree. Its branches were huge and its leaves were lush. Z sat and leaned on it while tapping on the grass next to him. I sat beside him and he laid his head on my lap.

"This is what you wanted to do?" I said annoyed, I played with his hair while he looked so peaceful. I took a photo without him knowing, I put my phone on silent mode so he wouldn't hear the shutter of course. I planted a kiss on his forehead and he smiled.

I looked at our surroundings and everything felt serene, all you could hear was the wind and the leaves. We were at enough distance from my friends so I couldn't really hear them at all.

The sun was starting to set so I took a selfie with a sleeping Z, put it on my snap story and then tapped him on the shoulder so we could get up. He just grunted so I tapped his shoulder repeatedly until he got a hold of my hand and and pinned me against the tree.
