Aerin's POV
"May I have this dance"
I looked up to see Zillon offering a hand, I hate that he still has that power over me. I should be getting over him, curse this heart.
I accepted his hand and he smiled. Don't get me wrong after this I'll really start to move on, I won't just forget what he did to me. I just don't want to dance with anybody but him.
I put my hands on his shoulders and his on my waist. I didn't want to intertwine our fingers so I figured this would be okay. The song was really lovely, I loved it. It really made everything romantic, I'm still hurting, yet I accepted this didn't I? Stupid.
I accidentally made eye contact with him and started tearing up, those eyes that I fell in love with.
"You look so beautiful tonight" I heard him say which made it worse. He always said that when we're alone and this was not an exception.
"I'll always love you, forever"
"Hey, I said may I have this dance?"
I looked up to see the captain of the football team with his hands reaching out to me. I guess I was just daydreaming, I smiled then gave him my hand and said "Sure".
"I've never introduced myself but I'm Jude"
"I'm-"
"Aerin, everybody knows you. Oh, sorry for cutting you off" I chuckled and put a hand over his shoulder, one hand on my waist, as our other hands intertwined.
I looked at Z to see him already staring at me while he was also dancing with another girl. It reminded me when I saw him making out with Agatha and suddenly there was an ache in my heart so I tried to focus on Jude as we danced.
The night was young as the prom ended, it was so fun. My best friends and I danced like it was our last and everything went as it should. We had lots of memories and I'll make sure the pictures that we took gets developed. I'll always want to remember this day. I didn't get any interaction with Z which I'm very thankful for since I probably would have balled my eyes out on the most glamorous day of my senior year if we had more, other than stealing glances from each other of course.
~1 month later~
Today we graduate and this is the day me and my best friends part ways. I didn't wanna see it like that but it was honestly gonna be like that. We'll go to different universities, chase our dreams, and by the time we're successful, I hope every single one of us is happy and fulfilled.
My best friends and I sat together at the field along with other seniors that are graduating this year. After a long speech from the principal we started to line up before the stage. I was excited, making sure everything is perfect like my graduation gown, cap, tassel and everything.
One by one our names got called and after waiting my name finally got called.
"Aerin Williams"
I walked up to the stage confidently and then shook everyone's hands on the stage. I felt everyone's eyes around me as I touch my diploma and posed for the camera before getting down the stage. We all worked hard for this, I can't believe four years have already past. Before I could get sentimental I needed to pose one more for the camera in front of the stage then headed back to my seat.
The graduation went on for about an hour and honestly every single person graduating was already bored. After the valedictorian speech, which I didn't get, ugh! We tossed our caps onto the air, jumped and then laughed. Of course we had to take graduation pictures together so we had Cedrik take that for us.
