It was the day after Childe's official funeral was announced that Zhongli was seldom seen, and when he was, he never talked.
"It seems that Zhongli cannot get over Childes death." Hu Tao grimly said to her peer, Ganyu.
"It's not the first time, he did this when Guizhong died too. Although it was a come-and-go type of thing, as he didn't want to be known as a weak god." Ganyu presented Hu Tao with information regarding Zhongli's past.
"Although this," The blue haired woman continued, "Its a little, well, new. For us adepti aswell."
Hu Tao murmured under her breath as she went to complete the rite.It was only after everyone left did Zhongli appear to the funeral, he wished to be alone as he mourned for his loved one.
He quietly kneeled down upon Childe's grave, trying to steady his breathing as to not faint.
He put a starconch near the rough stone.
"I remember this starconch in particular, used to be your favorite." He whispered lowly.
"It is quite intricately shaped as well, although this little crack is a surprise to the beauty. The shell is soft but sturdy, being both soft to the touch and too heavy to break." He started his lecture.
"The perfect starconch, for a perfect being."
Zhongli said as he felt the starconch.--------
"Xiansheng!" Childe was in a excited mood as he leapt into the brunettes arms, surprising the latter.
"What is it, Childe?" Zhongli asked curiously.
"Look! Look! A perfectly designed piece of cor lapis! I bought it for 100,000 mora, just for you Xiansheng!" Childe smiles as he gently handed the Cor Lapis to his lover.
"My, this is quite pretty, the shape compliments the color of the Cor Lapis..."
Zhongli once again launched into a full blown discussion about a specific object, earning a bored groan from the Ginger.Zhongli decided to place the Cor lapis next to the starconch he got for Childe from Guyun Stone Forest one day.
"Xiangsheng..." Childe looked at Zhongli in admiration.
"Do not separate them Childe, for they are to be together, all the time, forever." Zhongli said.--------
Zhongli woke up in a clean and soft bed, he was terrified for a moment but then came to the abrupt realization that this bedroom was Childe's.
'Of course it's his room, the clean sheets, neatly dusted books and shelves, he was a great cleaner after all.' Zhongli thought, feeling a little at ease that he wasn't really kidnapped.
He turned to the windows and saw the rising sun, twinkling and waiting impatiently to burst forth, in its all might.
He turned to the little table and saw a picture-frame, quite neatly set out with some books beneath it. Zhongli picked it up gently and held it in his fingers.
It was a neat picture of him and Childe smiling at the camera, full of joy and happiness.
Oh how the old man wanted to feel those emotions again.
