Later that evening Lily, Liam and I began setting up the tables. The party was held in the yard and Aunt Hailey with some help from mum had earlier decorated everywhere with fairy lights, which made a cool and sophisticated environment.

Aimee was currently trying to fold napkins, keyword: try. She watched a youtube video earlier on how to fold a napkin, yet she was doing a terrible job right now.

"So tell me more about this barbecue" I ask, intrigued to know more about it.

"What do you want to know Kim! I told you everything just some time ago." Liam said with a huff and I gave him an annoyed look and in response he rolled his eyes. "I just want to know more... we are going to live here, don't you think we should get to know more about this place and it's people, Liam!" I explained my point.

"I know Kimberley, but you should wait for the party to being and stop talking now or else we won't be able to finish setting up the tables" He said, acting like the elder sibling.

After setting up the tables and giving the final touches to everything, I went back upstairs to my room and started searching for something to wear. I was not a party person and didn't really like meeting a lot of people because most of the time I would feel out of place. But for the first ever time in my life, I was looking forward to this barbecue and boy was I nervous?

I rummaged through all my dresses and settled upon a navy blue off-shouldered frock with frills at the bottom. I curled my straight brown hair and applied some lip-gloss. I never liked makeup and frankly I have never felt the need to put it on.

Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I felt the corner of my lips lift up at the sight of myself.

I got downstairs and saw Lily wearing a baby pink dress and it looked really cute on her with the blond hair and fair olive skin she's got. Aimee was wearing a sea-green colored skirt, pairing it with a black top.

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed happily "You two look absolutely gorgeous."

"Thanks Kim, You look  fabulous too." Aimee said with a grin.

"The party has started, wanna head out?" Lily asked.

I nodded my head and we walked out to the backyard, the dinner party had started in full mood. I had never been to such a classy barbecue dinner. This barbecue made me realise that its not the standard or the money of the people that makes a party, but the people themselves.

Everyone looked so rich and beautiful, yet so humble and friendly. It was like one big family having a dinner. I assumed they all put their problems aside and decided to be happy tonight.

I saw my mum talking animatedly to some people in a distance and for once in a long time, she looked happy. I sighed happily and smiled to myself.

"Maddie" Lily called out walked up to the girl, leaving me standing there alone awkwardly.

I looked at Lily, who was motioning for me to come over. I sighed and took two steps forward.

Here goes nothing
