And there he was, sprawled across his bed, tear stained cheeks glistening in the florescent lighting of his lamp, a confession he never planned on sending sitting folded neatly on his chest, a forever reminder that things didn't always get better.

At the moment, it felt like the whole world had collapsed in on him, trapping him in a cave of sorrow and loss, crowding him in all the worst place. His heart felt suffocated, aching as he tried to adjust himself on the bed.

His room felt so hot and stuffy, staining his face a weak red. He had cried for what felt like centuries, his voice now raspy, and his emotions were completely drained, leaving him a lifeless form of the boy he once was.

He had said before that he didn't mind being in love with Sapnap. He had truly believed that it had its benefits, that he could hide it forever and live in his giddy little fantasy land.

But then reality struck, and Dream was forced to realize that he wasn't the only significant part of Sapnap's life, that there were other people that Sapnap wanted to hang out with, that there were other places he wanted to go. There were other people he wanted to love.

This all felt like some sort of irritating mistake, one that could never be reversed, no matter how hard anyone tried. Dream would forever be caught up in loathing himself, never able to see the world for what it once was.

On the other hand, Dream had always known this was coming. It was ridiculous to assume otherwise.

Sapnap had always expressed his need for adventure, to get out and try new things. If that meant leaving Dream behind, who cares? Dream would probably hold him back anyway- tell him what was safe and what wasn't, what he should and shouldn't do.

Dream tucked his head into his pillow, releasing a long breath, feeling the warmth radiate back onto his face. His pillow was tear stained, something Dream hadn't seen in years.

Crying was ridiculous, something that showed a weakness in your system. Dream wasn't one to cry, because he wasn't weak. He was strong, and he could get through anything.

Except when everything felt like it was over.

He may just be overly dramatic at the moment, but this situation felt like the end of the world.

It was funny, really, because what did Dream truly lose? A fake boyfriend? A fake boyfriend, who may he add, wasn't even interested in him?

Yeah, what a horrible loss that was. A boyfriend who didn't even love him.

It was late now, although Dream wasn't sure the exact time. He was only judging by the darkness beyond his blinds, and the fact that he could see Sapnap's TV through the window.

Dream didn't recognize the anime, but something was on the TV, flashing bright, inviting colors. It was enticing, the thought of just slipping out to go see what Sapnap was doing.

And actually, why shouldn't he? They're still friends, after all.

It would be stupid to avoid him forever.

So, Dream stood up and walked over to his mirror, trying his best to make himself look decent, and maybe just a bit less red. The mirror had watermarks on it from where Dream had failed to dry it off completely after having to wipe it down when Sapnap spit his drink all over it.

Sapnap had been laughing so hard at some lame joke Dream had made, that he couldn't keep his Coke in his mouth, and he ended up just spraying it all over Dream's room.

Dream laughed at the memory, a time before he had such complicated emotions, that he just couldn't seem to get a hold of. They were running rampant now, making themselves known in the world, no longer hidden and out of sight.
