Bellatrix trailed behind the rest of the seventh year Slytherins, the smell of different potions travelled through the freezing corridors of the dungeons.Moonlight shone through the gaps of low windows, barely slipping through the glass as all of the Slytherin 7th years walked passed.
Paintings on the walls spoke to the students as they passed, some yelled and cheered whilst others stared and spoke quieter than a mouse. All of the students could hear the whispers of the paintings on the walls, but they had grown used to it so they were just ignored.
The teachers couldn't change the whispers that people whispered to one another, they couldn't even if they wanted. But it was more of the tensions of war starting, the fear of this new dark lord and his still-growing army. Everyone was skeptical of each other, war tests the best of bonds and always manages to breaks them.
Bellatrix didn't blame them for their own hatred towards her house, she understood it, but she hated how it made her own housemates turn against each other so quickly into the year. The distrust floated around them, as other houses glared at them, even the snide comments in the hallway could start a fight these days. Though that wasn't surprising, it onlu surprised Bellatrix on how long it took until her housemates finally snapped.
Of course, she knew the comments her housemates makes, she knew how a lot of them thought they were superior to the other houses, she knew how many of them shared the same beliefs as her family.
Before Bellatrix knew it, she was standing in her common room, the warm fires almost instantly warming her shivering body up, the dark green colours brought a smile to her face. The black stairs shone under the moonlight, as the loud chattering echoed throughout the common room and up the stairs. All of her housemates getting ready to sleep, a sense of familiarity now finally back to her, a sense of home was what made her smile even more.
She was back, even with the uprising war, even with the amount of disasters that's bond to explode right in her face, even with all of these terrible circumstances; Bellatrix Black was back in Hogwarts.
