Classes quickly become a nightmare for Seojun. He's never one for the academics, but that's not the point. This school has a good way of teaching and he actually enjoys listening to whatever the teachers have to say, although remembering them would be a separate matter.
It's not the lessons that bother him. It's whom he's seated with. Joo Seokkyung. Everyone in South Korea who watches television would know her. A member of little Hera club, bla bla bla. The story of her father, the wedding of her mother which created media headlines, the wealth of her stepfather, etc. He knows that she's a spoilt bitch who vents out her anger on others. Much like his old friend Kang Soojin.
"Ya Joo Seokkyung, how the hell do you get an 8 from this equation shit?" he whispers, not wanting to disturb the teacher teaching right in front of him.
"You fucking solve it"
4 days, 4 days of sitting next to her in classes have proven to be the toughest challenge on surviving this thing called boarding school. Oh and the fact that they mostly sit on the first row might expand the problem for him who, up until this moment, always sits at the back of the class.
The school system isn't like the ones in South Korea. Each class consists of only 12 students, but they don't have a homeroom. They just move classes and everytime the composition of the 12 students changes. But Seojun doesn't know if the Gods are mad at him or something, because on his each and every class, he ended up having Joo Seokkyung as his seatmate and next to them sit the coldest "couple" he's ever known, Baek Kyung and Soojin.
This Joo Seokkyung always ignores him. At first he thought it was because of the bicycle incident. But after 4 days and dozens of classes, he just concluded that she's not the type of person to work together with.
"Ya, help me this is unsolvable"
"Urgh. Mrs. Smith, this boy over here needs some help"
Seojun smiles forcefully, trying to hold back the swear words threatening to escape his mouth.
"And how can I help you Mr Han?" Mrs. Smith faces him and smiles to him in the nicest way seojun has ever seen a teacher treats him. Damn, he's starting to like school, if it's not for his godforsaken seat mate and the trash roommate.
"I just dont get how this equation results in 8"
"Right. Why don't you come over to my desk and I'll explain it to you"
In his whole school life in South Korea, students who are not talented in studying aren't treated like human beings. That sucks, and wrong, but that's how it is. But here, they actually try to help him.
"Ahh, now I get it. Thank you ma'am. I appreciate that"
"Of course. Mr Han, don't hesitate to ask if there's anything you don't understand"
Returning to his seat, he is welcomed by Seokkyung smiling annoyingly to him.
"Now stop bothering me and start asking the teacher"
And Seojun rolls his eyes at her, for the god knows how many amounts of time.
_
"hey, is that the guy who moved here because he got rejected?"
"Is that the guy who witnessed his besfriend's suicide?"
"Ya, ya, that's him. The ex trainee"
Baek Kyung can hear the students whisper everytime Seojun walks past them. Not that he cares about him, but those whispers bother him so fucking much. He's a person who appreciates silence. Everywhere he goes now, he can hear whispers about this new boy Han Seojun.
