SHORT UPDATE
"Seokjin! Seokjin!"
Laying in bed, Seokjin sits up slowly, startled out of his sleep by someone yelling his name.
Someone sounding a lot like Taehyung.
Soon enough, Taehyung comes barging into his bedroom huffing and buffing.
"What could you possibly be yelling about? This better me important enough for you to break into my apartment." He states, rubbing his eyes and throwing the comforter off of himself. Once Taehyung catches his breath, he stands up straight with a big smile.
"There's a lead...on Jimin."
The statement causes Seokjin's eyes to go wide before he jumps out of bed.
"Meet me down in the lobby." He says before Taehyung nods and leaves. Seokjin washes as quick as humanly possible before throwing on some clothes and rushing downstairs. When Taehyung sees him coming, he only follows him outside to the patrol car to head back to the station.
As they walk inside, Seokjin is met with their chief.
"Kim. I see you've been informed about the lead. Follow me." Taehyung places a comforting hand onto Seokjin's back before leaving the two to head towards the interrogation room. Inside the room sat a woman fiddling with his fingers. He and the chief walk in before being met with the woman's nervous eyes.
"Good morning, ma'am. There's no need to be nervous here. I'm Chief Seo and this in Officer Kim." The intro causes the woman to nod her head in greeting before opening her mouth to speak.
"I-I'm Kwan JooEun."
The two officers take their seats and Seokjin keeps his hands in his lap to hide the fact that he was nervous as well.
"Okay, Ms. Kwan. We're simply going to ask you about the lead you've given us as well as any other important details you would like to share. Let's start off with this: How do you know that the person you saw was Park Jimin? What were you doing when you allegedly spotted him?" The chief asks. JooEun straightens her back and takes a deep breath to calm down her nerves.
"Okay. I believe it was ten at night and a bit after. I was taking my dog out for a stroll before I winded down for the night when I heard this extremely loud engine. When I turned around to see what car could possibly make that sort of sound, foreign car came riding down the street."
Seokjin takes the opportunity to pull a notebook and pen out of the chief's bag before starting to jot down every little detail. He wanted to remember everything that could lead him to his little brother, but it also kept his hands busy.
"Foreign cars aren't too rare in the area I live, but what was strange was that the car was purple. And they were going slower than usual for a foreign car owner. I remember one of the windows rolling down and then I saw him. I don't remember where he was sitting exactly but I just know his eyes were closed for the few seconds the car went by. But his hair wasn't black anymore like the flyers." Seokjin perks up at the last detail and furrows his eyebrows.
"What do you mean his hair isn't black anymore?" He asks with confusion. This didn't seem like the type of situation for his brother to dye his hair. Jimin was never the type to fiddle with his hair anyways.
"It wasn't black. It was a really light color. Um...it was...it was blue and, oh geez I can't remember." She huffs out. As she thinks, it's like a lightbulb turned on inside her head.
"Oh yes. Half of it was blue and the other half was pink." She says finally. Seokjin writes the details down. The chief smiles at her before folding his arms.
"Okay. That gives us the time of night, car color and a current description of appearance. Is there anything else that you can remember? Maybe the car model or the license plate?" He asks her. She shakes her head.
"Unfortunately I cannot. The car model was one I'd never seen before and my brain was trying to register that it was a missing person that I can't look at the plate. Sorry." The chief nods and thanks her for her report before standing.
"Officer Kim, do you have any questions?" The chief asks. Seokjin simply shakes his head. He didn't want the witness to know that he was emotionally connected to this case or think there was a sort of bias. He assumes the chief read him and sighs.
"Okay. Well that's all from us. Another officer will come and escort you out of the building and brief you about reaching out to us again if needed or if there is a detail you accidentally forgot. Have a good day, Ms. Kwan." He says before leaving the room, Seokjin following right behind him. As soon as the door closes, Seokjin covers his face and feels his eyes watering. He tries to fight his tears away but he can't stop the sob that comes out of his mouth. The chief sighs and looks at him before draping a comforting arm around him.
"Everything is going to be okay, Kim. We have a current description so we're one step closer to finding him. You have to stay strong, okay?" Seokjin nods as tears keep coming. The chief helps him walk out onto the main floor and there was Taehyung waiting as they turned the corner. He rushes up and sees Seokjin trying to get himself together.
"You okay, Jin? What happened?" He asks out of worry. He helps Seokjin wipes his face and he lifts his head.
"We have have gotten one step closer to finding my brother."
