Special OVA 2: "One Break, One Disaster, and One Bonds"

~Beacon Academy - Training Room (AylaRWBY)~

*Month Later*

The scene opens up to Onyx and Ledari training in the Academy's training room. Ledari is seen swinging the grey katana wildly at the hologram copy of a Deathstalker.

Onyx: (unseen) "You're being too aggressive, stop!"

Ledari failed to hear Onyx's call and rushed at the hologram copy recklessly and ends up getting smacked away by the stinger, the hologram Deathstalker prepares to stab Ledari but the hologram disappears, he looks to the left to see Onyx approaching him.

Onyx: "That was a disaster."

Ledari: "I-I know..." (Groans)

Onyx: (chuckles) "Don't sweat it, you're new to Kenjutsu after all."

Ledari: (tilts head) "Kenjutsu?"

Onyx: "Kenjutsu is the methods, techniques, and art of the sword, specifically katanas."

Ledari: "Oh."

Onyx: "We could've used a bokken to help you train with your katana, but where's the fun in that when you're going to use a wooden sword for starters?"

Ledari: "I don't understand any of that." (Sweatdrop)

Onyx: "Using a katana is like an art. Want me to show you?"

Ledari nods.

Onyx: (smiles) "Okay, step aside and watch."

The hologram copy of the Deathstalker appears once again and prepares to lunge at Onyx, who adapts a Ko Gasumi no Kamae stance as Attrition starts to glow purple and crackles purple electricity.

Onyx: (to Ledari) "Read your foe's movements, do not make the first move if you are uncertain of your opponent. Focus and let the blade do the work, don't grip the handle tensely..."

The Deathstalker goes towards Onyx, who narrows his eyes.

Onyx: "...And let the wind guide your swings."

The hologram Deathstalker pounces it's stinger at Onyx, who then takes off with his right foot and dashes towards the head of the Deathstalker and stabs it, making the hologram shatter as it disappears. The glow of the black blade fades as Onyx closes his eyes and sheathes Attrition.

Onyx: "In fighting and in everyday life, you should be determined, though calm. Meet the situation without tenseness, yet not recklessly, your spirit settled, yet unbiased. An elevated spirit is weak and a low spirit is weak. Do not let the enemy see your spirit."

Ledari: "..." (Stunned)

Onyx: "How about we take a break? Overworking won't get you anywhere."

Ledari: "I've been thinking, is that why you guys don't have much emotion when fighting? Hiding your spirit?"

Onyx: "Yes, you have to remain calm and focus on what's in front of you."

Ledari: "I... I see."

Onyx: "Alright, well session is over, you should go have some fun while you still have some youth in yourself."

Ledari: (sheathes katana) "What about you?"

Onyx: "I don't know, I got nothing to do, so might as we-"
