I watched from the living room as Elijah took off in the distance. I let out a relieved sigh. That went a lot better than I expected. I thought he'd push me away and tell me to fuck off because I was being so nosey. But his reaction took me by surprise. Just like the sudden change in his behavior. Elijah is very friendly and outgoing. He goes out with his friends every weekend and sometimes he'd bring them over but that no longer happened. He was quiet and always spacing out whenever we were together.
I remember the moment we met, I was unpacking my stuff as he arrived for the very first time in the apartment. I thought it was the landlord because a not so cheap car parked in front of the house. But when a blond teen came out of the vehicle, my assumption was thrown right away. He looked so beautiful! His features were soft and young like a model. Without a doubt, I stopped what I was doing and approached the small yet adorable dude. I welcomed him, offered my hand and asked if he was my roommate. He took it rather hesitantly, lighting up like a cherry and said yes.
So he was the other tenant! There were only two of us in this medium sized house. It had two master bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, lounge area and a nice porch that had a wonderful view of the thriving forest in front of us. My room had a large window that looked over the sea of trees with the mountain in the distance and I guessed he had a good view of the town from where his room was located. He was terribly shy and timid at first but the more time we spent with each other, the more he opened up to me.
We even went to prom together and the party after that. He had Kyle and Charles as his partners. They didn't even act like partners, more like best friends. Most people brought a date with them or went alone with some friends. Elijah didn't just take one partner but two, and they had a lot of fun that night. Charles and Elijah jumped up and down and danced wildly with the crowd, laughing like a bunch of lunatics. The two of them were already tipsy so Kyle being the responsible one, watched from afar and made sure they didn't do stupid or embarrassing shit.
I remember seeing Elijah drag the smaller Kyle to the middle of the massive room as they danced to a slow song since Kyle didn't have a date with him while Charles sat down at their table and rested for a while.
Charles and Elijah had the same height so Kyle was the smallest. The other two had black hair, Kyle's was short and curly while Charles' was straight and always styled. Both have golden caramel skin because they were from the same country; Philippines. They went home after prom but Elijah went with me to the party. I didn't have a date with me that night so it was only the two of us when we drove to the venue using Elijah's car because he wasn't in the right condition to drive anytime soon.
He laughed a lot, telling me how fun it was and how much he enjoyed it with his friends. His ocean eyes were basically glowing with happiness that time, his smile lit up the entire night more than the stars did.
A lot of girls asked me out on prom but I declined, they weren't really my type. I don't know what's my type actually so I went alone and tagged along with the other guys from football. The venue was a large and expensive looking Italian styled villa. The driveway leading up to the house was already filled with numerous cars so I had to park somewhere else. I found an open spot not far from the house so I parked the BMW there and walked towards the loud and chaotic manor with Elijah.
