Chapter 4

(Levi P.O.V)
Lunch was very...interesting to say the least. The hyperactive one, Eren asked me a bunch of questions, like if I could speak fluent French, to which I answered with "Oui je peux, gosse stupide."
(A/N: 'Oui je peux, gosse stupide' translates to 'Yes I can, dumb brat')

I didn't have time to explain what it meant to him because the bell rang, signaling it was time for our next class. I had a free period so I went outside to enjoy it.

The petals of the cherry blossoms trees were falling due to the slight wind which made the scene even more relaxing. I liked the small things like this. It helped me get my mind off the negative things and onto more calm topics that I think deeply of. My negativity was just a wall. A wall that I have worked so hard to build up in hopes of never being broken through. In all honesty it kind of sounds cowardly but who gives a fuck? Not me.

The scene was short lived when I heard someone scream my name from across the entire school yard. I flickered my eyes over to the loud voice that was Eren's. God, why is he here? I thought agitatedly.

He ran up to me in a full sprint and stopped himself on the heels of his feet. "Enjoying your free period?"

"I was."

"Harsh." He pouted for a millisecond then his face turned into that of a stupid grin.

"Want to hang out with me?"

A 'tch' came from my mouth as I stood from my place at a bench and began to walk away.

"Laissez-moi l'enfer seul Eren."

(A/N: 'Laissez-moi l'enfer suel Eren translates to 'Leave me the hell alone, Eren)

"Je préfère ne pas, Levi."

(A/N: 'Je préfère ne pas Levi' translates to 'I'd rather not, Levi')

What the...?

I turned and looked at him. "You speak French?"

He nodded. "I also speak German and Japanese, all of which I am fluent in."

I don't know what possessed me to ask him to speak German to me, maybe it was out of curiosity but I did it.

"Mein Name ist Eren Jaeger, Levi Rivaille bist du, I just said 'My name is Eren Jaeger, you are Levi Rivaille."

"You are pretty good."

"I know."

This kid. This kid had such an air of confidence. I do not know where he gets it from. How can he be this...this...open?

Eren continued to talk to me about different things. The topic would jump to another and then another. It was amazing to know that this brat had so much shit to talk about. The things he did talk about weren't even that important but yet they intrigued me so.

The bell rang and I started walking back to the school.

"Hey Levi?"

"Hm?"

"My friends and I are going to go to this sweet skate park tomorrow after school and I was wondering if maybe you'd, ya know, like to come along?"

He was inviting me to come hang out with him and his friends? Why?

"I-I mean you don't have to."

"I'll go." I said without a second thought.

"Good, you didn't have much choice in the matter!" The little runt tricked me. That fucking asshole.

I turned ready to yell at him but he was already gone. Dammit that kid was fast.

Why did I agree though?

You know what I don't even care enough to try anymore.
