The Selection

You aren't alone

  Prince Andrew's Pov

       After breakfast I followed Melony up the steps and she stopped a few feet from the guard beside it and she did something I would have never thought she slapped him. I gasped why would she do that but she yells "If you came here to apologize for what you did I don't need you anymore I like the Prince and I am glad I came here. You should know I came here to get away from you. Why would you come here?"

          The guard answer by saying " I'm sorry Melony what you saw wasn't true she pushed me behind that tree and dug nails into me I promise I didn't cheat. I swear please believe me."

            What Melony says next shocked me the most. "No you can't just do that and come back and apologize I let it happen once and I sure as h*** won't let it happen again"with that she spins around looking shocked to see me I go to walk up to her but she runs past me straight for the palace doors. I did the only thing I could think of I ran after her. I kept calling her but she kept running. I knew where she was going though. She was going to the secret clearing I showed her when we first met.

        When I got to the clearing she was curled up in a ball sobbing. I did the only thing I could think of do to the fact that I am not good with emotional women. I walked over to her, bent down and pulled her into into my lap. I whispered soothing things or what I think are soothing things into her ears. Then at about lunch time she stops crying and sits up "Sorry about that you didn't have to come after me" she said.

           "Of course I did I wasn't going to let you go after that,"I said then continued "can you tell me what that was back there."

            "I don't think I can tell you, you wouldn't like me anymore"she started sniffling.

            "Hey of course I would still like so please just tell me what's going on"I plead because I know she probably won't say anything to me but I'm surprised when she does.

            "Well let me start from the.       beginning that guard was my old boyfriend, you see right before I got the selection paperwork I met him at this lake and I found him cheating on me and so I broke up with him and decided to do the selection because I needed to get my mind off him and now I think im falling for you and when I saw him with that smile on his face I thought how could he be happy that he hurt me" as soon as she finished she started sobbing and gribbing my shirt.

           For once in my life I don't think I had anything to say so I said "That doesn't change the fact that I like you even if you've had a boyfriend before im surprised you haven't had more than one with your beauty."

           She looked up at me with the cutest pout and said "Your just saying that because you have to be nice to all the girls here."

        I gasped" No I say it because I mean it actually you are beautiful"I say and am surprised I didn't stutter. I just wonder where my confidence came from. I guess when saying the truth you can doing like you mean it.
