Morning.
Smith wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. Everybody did, but there was one thing keeping them on the blood bathed camp--Andrea. Amy, Andrea's younger sister had been bit the night before and she wouldn't let anyone take her, let alone put a bullet on her head so she wouldn't come back as one of those horrifying things.
Smith sat on the floor, in the distance, observing Andrea emotionlessly looking at her lifeless sister, holding her blood soaked hand. She had been there all night and so had Smith, but for different reasons. She was ready to shoot when she came back and tried to attack Andrea.
Daryl was busy, together with the rest of the people, killing the virus out of the dead bodies so they could bury them properly without them emerging out of the ground.
"She still won't move?" Rick kneeled down beside Smith.
"Been there all night. Hasn't moved a single finger." Smith finally dropped her stare from Andrea to look at the man on her side. "How's that going? Many bodies left?" He exhaled before answering.
"No, just a few more. We gotta move out of here..." She nodded, agreeing with him.
"Yeah, we do... Sorry I haven't been much help, I just can't stand the thought of her coming back and having one more body to bury."
"You want me to take over for you for a while? You've been here all night as well."
"Sure, thanks. I'll go see if Glenn needs any help." She nodded her head towards Glenn, who was struggling with one of the bodies. As she got closer to Glenn, Smith heard a gun cocking. Andrea was pointing her weapon directly at Rick. He stepped back, whispering "Okay... I'm sorry, I'm sorry.""Ya'll can't be serious." Daryl whispered as the group formed a circle to talk about their current situation. "Let that girl hamstring us? The dead girl's a time bomb."
"What do you suggest?" Rick questioned him.
"Take the shot. Clean, in the brain, from here. Hell, I can hit a turkey between the eyes from this distance."
"No." Lori, intervened. "For God's sake, let her be." Daryl scoffed and walked up to Jim.
"Wake up, Jimbo. We got work to do."
The squirrels' man helped Morales with a body, leading it do the burning fire where they were burning the walkers who attacked the camp, but was soon stopped by Glenn.
"Hey! What are you doing? The fire's for the geeks, people go over there."
"What's the difference? They're all infected."
"Our people go on that row over there." Glenn rehanged. "We don't burn them! We bury them. Understand?" He breathed out. "Our people go on that row over there."
"You reap what you sow."
"You know what? shut up, man!" Morales ordered, offended by Daryl's comment.
"Y'all left my brother for dead! You had this coming!" Smith scoffed and continued to help Glenn with the rest of the bodies. Daryl was a very perturbed person.
"Then show me!" Jacqui raised her voice at Jim, causing everybody to inspect what was happening. He whispered something back and Jacqui got up, looking alerted.
"A walker got him. A walker bit Jim!"
One more to the list... Jim kept repeating the words "I'm okay, I'm okay..." after exposing his bite.Rick mentioned something about the CDC working on a cure, maybe they could help Jim. Shane mentioned that if there was any government left, they would be at Fort Benning, which was 100 miles in the opposite direction. So, now, they were divided on what to do and where to go.
While Daryl was having one of his horrible rage control episodes, Smith walked softly to Andrea, who stood on the exact same position.
"Hey. Just so you know, I didn't come here to try to take your sister away from you as I'm sure you have enough people doing that already..." She paused. "I know how it feels." She didn't expect a reaction but Andrea's dry eyes moved up to her.
"You do? Did you--"
"Why do you think I got here alone? I didn't have time to say goodbye, either. Grief, it's important. I know exactly how you feel right now and they shouldn't be trying to take that away from you." Smith examined the body. She had a necklace around her neck, but it was clean, there was not a drop of blood on it and since she had been bit on the neck, it confused Smith quite a lot.
"It was her birthday today." Andrea's broken voice answered her mental question. "I was never there for her birthday. I had gotten her a present this time but--" The tears made it impossible for more words to come out of her mouth. Smith pulled Andrea into a comforting hug while she cried.
