Hunter's POV
Wiping the sweat off of my brow, I turned to see that the sun had begun to set on the horizon. It's weird that it has already been four days since we had come to this village. Sighing with exhaustion, I wave to the men and Shota as I begin to make my way back to Tazuna's house for dinner. As I walk through the woods surrounding the house, I listen to the various sounds of the forest as evening began to approach. The peacefulness of the trees and birds pulled me toward thoughts of home causing unwanted emotions to swell within my heart.
Suddenly, a loud crash travels through the trees before fading into the distance. Making my way towards the sound, I push aside the brush to find Naruto lying on the ground, panting with exhaustion. I moved closer and looked down on him from a crouched position. "What are you doing, Naruto?"
Naruto opened his eyes in a slight panic before he recognized who had spoken to him. "I'm training. Kakashi told us to walk up the tree without using our hands and I was almost there. I just have to work harder, so that I can beat that teme," he said with a tired smile. Nodding in understanding, I reach out a hand to help the young ninja up. "You should focus on placing enough chakra underneath the soles of your feet to keep you balanced on the tree. Too much chakra and you will fall, while too little chakra will do nothing to help you hold onto the tree."
Naruto puts a hand to his chin and nods his head as he contemplates my words. "Okay, I see now. By the way, how do you know all of this stuff anyway?" Taken aback by the sudden question, I cannot come up with a believable answer. Shrugging my shoulders, I pick up the discarded kunai before handing it back to Naruto. "I don't really know. It just seems to come naturally to me." Before the boy could ask anymore questions, I turn and begin to walk again toward Tazuna's house with a wave of my hand over my shoulder.

As night silently fell over the village, I relaxed on the roof of the house while looking at the stars twinkling in the sky. As the sounds of the nocturnal creatures started to break out in a chorus, I heard light footsteps approaching my place on the roof. Looking over I see Kakashi making his way toward me with his favorite orange book in his hand.
"Mind if I sit with you for a while? " he asked before placing himself beside me.
"No... there's enough room for the both of us," I said turning as I turn my eyes back to the sky.
Kakashi looks out of the corner of his eye, "So, how are you liking it on the team?" I tilt my head back and let a soft sigh escape from my mouth. "It's okay, I guess. Everyone seems nice, although Naruto is a bit over-confident while Sasuke can be arrogant and a bit distant at times with the others."
Kakashi nods his head at my observation before closing his book as he leaned back on the roof beside me. "You know that we will have to face some tough opponents in the future, right?"
"I know." I sigh again as I move to lean onto Kakashi's shoulder before closing my eyes. "But we have each other and that's what matters in the end." With my eyes closed I did not see the silent tear fall down Kakashi's cheek as he became lost in his thoughts.

Hunter's POV
Waking up to the sound of bird chirping in the trees is the best thing in the world. The sun was high in the sky by the time Sasuke came back from tree walking training. Looking behind him expectantly from my spot on the porch, a frown sets on my face, "where's Naruto?"
Sasuke shrugs his shoulders slightly, "Still training. He hasn't made it to the top of the tree yet and he said that he had to get it right, no matter what." I shake my head as a smile forms on my face, "I guess I will go look for him then. Tell Kakashi that I went to go find him so that he can eat breakfast." Sasuke grunts softly before continuing into the house.
I get up from my comfortable spot on the porch and make my way into the forest to look for Naruto. I move towards the training area as I place my hands in my pockets and close my eyes. The sunlight breaks through the tops of the trees and warms up my face. Smiling, I continue to trek through the forest until I finally make it to the training area. Where is he? Sasuke said he was still training, right?
Thinking quickly, I remember Kakashi talking to the others about chakra control on our way to the village. Maybe I can use that to sense out Naruto. As I move further into the trees, I start to push on my senses to see if I can locate Naruto's chakra with my own. As I came upon a small creek, a sudden burst of warm energy passes down my back causing me to stop in my tracks. Closing my eyes once more, I follow the unusual feeling for what seemed like forever before I tripped over something on the ground. "Ahh! What in the world?"
Turning around quickly, I see Naruto rubbing his leg where I had fallen on him. "Ouch! Hunter? Why did you fall on me?" I brush my self off before offering a hand to help him up. "I was looking for you so that you wouldn't miss breakfast." Smiling, Naruto grabs me and pulls me into a hug, "Thank you for coming to find me and looking out for me. Let's go before they eat all of the food." Laughing at his sudden change in character, I allow him to grab my hand and drag me behind him towards the house.
