Recap:

As the drunkard left the office, Kakashi turned to me with a proud look in his eyes, "You know, I am glad we met and I am glad that you are going to help out on the team. We could use you in situations like that." I smiled up at Kakashi as we made our way out of the Hokage's office and toward home to pack, "This is going to be an interesting journey, huh?"

On the walk to Kakashi's apartment, I observed the people going about their day to day routines. The woman walking with her young daughter as they went shopping, the men chatting outside of the bar while the day passed. This 'village' seemed to be peaceful even though there were dangers awaiting them just outside of the walls. Lowering my head, I picked up my pace.

Once I got to the apartment, it took only a few minutes to pack my supplies for the journey to Wave country. Of course I took some of Kakashi's 'hidden' Pocky, placing them in one of my secret compartments. Looking at the time, I left the apartment and made my way to the gate to meet up with my team. As I neared the gate, I heard Naruto's loud voice and couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm.

"I CAN"T BELIEVE WE ARE LEAVING THE VILLAGE. I AM SO EXCITED THAT I CAN'T WAIT." Laughing lightly, I walked up behind Naruto and patted him on the head so that he would calm down before he passed out from lack of oxygen. "Calm down, Naruto. I think I heard you from the other side of the village."

Naruto pouted at me suspiciously, "No you couldn't, Hunter. You would have to be like Kiba to be able to hear that far." Who is Kiba? 

"Who is Kiba and how would I have to be like him to hear?" Naruto smiles as he shakes his head. "Kiba is one of my friends and he is an Inuzuka. His people have attributes of canines which allow them to have heightened senses." Nodding my head, I sit on the ground beside the gate to wait for Kakashi to show up.

What seemed like hours later, I see Kakashi walking down the street with our client. As I got off the ground, Naruto looks at me before turning to look towards Kakashi. Sakura and Naruto meet him before he can come any closer to the gate, "HEY, YOU'RE LATE!!!" Kakashi smiles as he scratches his head, "I had to help this woman get her groceries to her apartment, then I saw our client heading this way so I gave him directions. "

I blink slowly, knowing that Kakashi was lying about being late. "Oh well, let's head out since you are here now." Kakashi sighs as the pressure is taken off him and begins to follow the group as they pass through the gates and into the forest.

Time Skip......

Sighing softly, I look at the surroundings trying to find something to entertain me since I had been positioned at the front of the group. I had quickly become bored with walking after Sakura wouldn't stop asking questions about the Land of the Waves. Suddenly I felt a weird sensation go up the back of my neck as I passed over a puddle in the middle of the road.

Looking into the puddle's reflection, I became overwhelmed with the sense of being watched. This is weird. Why is there a puddle when it is clearly sunny outside?

Before I could open my mouth to ask, Kakashi grunted causing me to look toward  him, skeptically. Kakashi looked into my eyes and shook his head, telling me to not reveal anything. I nodded my head and smiled before continuing to lead the group forward.

Moments later, a splash signaled that the hidden ninjas had finally made their move. Turning around quickly, I got into a stance while also grabbing the handle of my sword. What? Why did I move instinctively? I followed the ninjas' movements as they wrapped Kakashi in metal chains with deadly spikes and ripped him into pieces. Kakashi? Wait....is he...{sweatdrop} He's hiding in the trees. 

Tick marks appear on my forehead as I realize that Kakashi had fled the fight intentionally. Suddenly I hear Sakura scream as one of the ninjas went to attack her and our client. Moving to intercept the ninja, I grab my sword and jump in front of the kid and our client. While I went to protect them, Sasuke had run over to Naruto to help him deal with the other ninja.

Just as I was about to counter-attack and slash down with my sword, Kakashi appeared out of nowhere with one ninja under his arm and the other knocked out on the ground. Taking a slow breathe I looked silently into Kakashi's eye, asking if he was okay. Nodding his head, Kakashi smiled slightly and patted my shoulder before going to tie up the two assassins.

Once we had gotten the two assassins taken care of, Kakashi turned to the client and looked at him with a glare that would kill even the Hokage, or at least scare him. "So, Tazuna. You want to tell me what is really going on here?"

The client sheepishly looked away before taking out a sheet of paper from his bag. "Fine. This man is after me because he does not want me to return to my village."

I place a hand on Tazuna's shoulder, "Why? What does he have against you?" Tazuna looks at me with sad eyes. "I am trying to build a bridge in my village so that we will become more prosperous, but Gato does not want anything to change since he is in power." Sighing, I turn toward my team, "Well, we have come this far. We should continue our mission until we have accomplished it. We vowed to return this man home and that is what we should do."

Sasuke grunts as he puts his hands in his pockets. Sakura turns toward Kakashi for approval as Kakashi looks at me with a proud look on his face. Chuckling lightly, Kakashi ruffles my hair as he moves to stand at the front of the group. "Well, I guess it's decided then. We will continue on this mission, but only if you promise not to do anything dangerous. All of you."

"Hn."

"Of course, sensei."

"WHAT? WHY....Ok."

I stay silent as the group passes by Kakashi and I, and start to head on down the road. "I hope you will not do anything rash, tomodachi," I say softly before following behind Tazuna. Kakashi stiffens as he realizes that I had just acknowledged him as someone I trust. Smiling to himself, he runs after the group.
