FORGOTTEN

Chapter 20

At the police station, RM and Bang P.D. watched as officers gathered equipment and readied to confront Ji-hoon at his home. They hoped he might have taken Jimin there.

"Can we follow?" RM asked one of the officers. 

"Not a good idea, Mr. Kim. If things go sideways, we don't want you or Mr. Bang here in any danger." 

"How will we know what is happening?" Bang P.D. Demanded.

"Sir, please understand," the officer began. 

"No, you understand. I will not wait here. Namjoon and I will follow you, but we will remain a reasonable distance from the scene. I need to be there when Jimin is rescued from this animal." The officer sighed. Unless he locked both the men in a holding cell, he'd never keep them away.

"Fine, let's go," the officer sighed in defeat.

"My beautiful Jimin," Ji-hoon stroked Jimin's cheek softly. "Wake up, my love. I have some soup for you." Jimin's eyelids slowly opened.

"Home," he whimpered.

"I know, love," Ji-hoon cooed at the younger. "You will get used to your new home soon. I will never let you feel unloved. Now open up and say ah!"

"Do not get any closer than this," The officer pointed at the back of a police car farthest away from Ji-hoon's home. "Do you understand?"

"Yes, yes," Bang P.D. nodded. "Now go get Jimin away from that psychopath!"

"Gather round!" the officer moved forward and gathered his team. 

"They're taking too long," RM sighed in frustration. "Why don't they do something?" He stormed off, leaving Bang P.D. to wait alone.

"Good job, baby," Jihoon wiped under Jimin's chin and put the now-empty bowl on the bedside table. "How about we cuddle for a while? You remember like when you were in the hospital, and I took care of you. They were the reason you ended up there. They didn't love you enough. Now I have a chance to show you how it feels to be loved every single day."

"Ji-hoon hyung, please," Jimin whimpered. "Let me go home. My hyungs and JK-"

"They don't deserve you!" Ji-hoon screamed. Jimin flinched and tried to get away from the crazed man. "Don't you see? They ignored you, forgot about you, left you alone,  treated you as some cast-off.  But I saw you; I knew you were someone special. I saw your tears. I watched you from afar. I loved you when no one else did. And you picked me; you asked me to stay with you at the hospital. You love me too. You don't realize it yet. You will though, You will love me just like I love you."

"Ji-hoon, I don't-"

"Shut up!" Ji-hoon screamed the veins and tendons in his neck bulged. "You do love me, you do! Say it! Say you love me!" 

"I can't!" Jimin screamed back. Ji-hoon froze for a moment before his hand shot out and connected with Jimin's left cheek. His head snapped to the side with such violent force he saw stars.

"Jimin, please don't make me hurt you. If you were a good boy, I wouldn't have to punish you. I'm so sorry, baby, but bad actions bring punishment." Jimin opened and closed his mouth several times before shaking the cobwebs from his head.

"Ji-hoon, you have to let me go. What you are doing is wrong." Ji-hoon smiled sadly at Jimin. 

"No dessert for bad boys. I'm sorry, sweetheart, but I'm doing this because I love you." he shook his head sadly. "It hurts me more than it hurts you." Jimin sat as close to the headboard as he could and watched Ji-hoon leave the room.

RM had become one of two things. One, he was the bravest man in the whole world, or two, he was the biggest fool to walk the planet. Against the advice of the police officers, he'd gone around to the back of Ji-hoon's little house. No one had seen him when he'd left; no one but Bang P.D., but he wasn't about to stop the man from doing what he felt he had to do to save Jimin. The stupid police officers were huddled around patrol cars, planning their next move. Meanwhile, sweet, beautiful Jimin was in terrible danger. 

RM crept close to the back windows to get a better look at what was going on inside. To his surprise, joy, and utter horror, he saw his Chimchim. The horror came in the form of the chains on Jimin's wrists, shackling him to the bed. Jimin's head rested on his knees which were pulled up to his chest. The sight broke RM's heart.

"I'm going to get you out, baby. I promise." He squatted down under the windowsill and pulled his phone out. Making sure all the sounds on his phone were off, he texted Jin.

Joon: Let the guys all see this.

Jin: What's going on? Is Chim okay?

Joon: I just saw him. He looks okay.

Jin: You rescued him?

Joon: No. But we did find him. 
             I need Kook to call Ji-hoon. Have him tell Ji-hoon he wants to meet up.

Jin: Kook said FUCK NO!

Joon: I need him to get Ji-hoon out of the house so I can get Jimin out!

Jin: Kook says he's on it.

Joon: WAIT!

Jin: What?

Joon: When he goes out, have Hobi and Yoongi follow from a distance so they can watch his
             back.

Jin: What do Tae and I do?

Joon: Hang tight at the house and wait for me to call you.

Jin: How does that help?

Joon: It will help me keep my sanity. Jimin is already in danger, and I'm putting Kook in
             Ji-hoon's crosshairs...

Jin: I'm sorry.

Joon: Don't be. Just stay safe.

Jin looked up from his phone. The others looked back at him, waiting for instructions. 

"So?" J.K. asked.

"You all read what Joonie said. We all have jobs to do. Let's get to it and be safe about it." J.K. pulled his phone out, scrolled through his contacts, and stopped on Ji-hoon's number. He hesitated for the slightest moment before hitting the call button. There was no going back now.
