I have danced upon the Plain of Dreams
and sailed forbidden seas,
I have slept upon the Fields of Mist
below its mystic trees.
I have seen the Land of Shadows
beyond its ghostly shore
and seen such wonder in that sight,
as no one's seen before.Yet not all is joy and wonder
in this world above the sky,
for all things found are ever lost
in the blinking of an eye.
Those memories of beauty
and those of joyous play,
retreat into the hungry dark
and quickly slip away.I journey to those lands at night
and revel, dance, and shake,
though all that's found will soon be lost
when I, at last, awake.
The tiny gems that I recall,
while life again attacks,
make me look forward to that time
when I go drifting back.
