chapter eight - his family?

Mizuka's POV

"Nii-chan! Let's go to the mall!" Taka said, approaching Hayato, "Yeah, no" He answered.

"Hey Taka-kun, we can go to the mall later okay?" I said and his eyes immediately sparkled,

"Bleh bleh Nii-chan! I'm going with Mizuka-chan!" Taka said trying to make his brother be envy of him,

*pong* 

"Shut it, I told you we're going home" Hayato hit his brother again.

"You don't need to hit him" I took Taka into my arms, "Does it hurt?" I asked the wailing Taka. 

"If you're not home after 1 hour, I'll never open the door for you" Hayato said that frustrated Taka even more.

"Who said you're not going with him?" I said and he just stared at me, "You're going with him, Hayato" I said one more time,

"No, he's going home with me" He said and Taka started crying again, "Come on, Hayato" Why do I always have to do this stop-the-kid-from-crying things.

Taka soon stopped crying while Misaki is staring at Hayato.

"Go get your bag before I change my mind" Hayato said, "Misaki? What is it?" She's pulling my skirt.

"Oneechan, does Hayato-niichan hate Taka-kun?" Misaki asked, she's been asking me the same question whenever Hayato hit Taka.

"No, honey. He's a complicated person" I said and chuckled.

"Mizuka-chan, here's my bag" Taka gave me his bag but Hayato snatched it away from me.

"Why would you give your bag to her, idiot" Hayato also took Misaki's bag.

"Let's go!" I took both of them into my arms.

We all arrived at the mall, the kids are so noisy that Hayato threatened them again to shut up.

"Mizuka-chan, I want to do that!" Taka pointed the claw machine, "Hmm, just 3 tries okay?" And Taka nodded.

Taka proceeded to play and tried to get a plushie. He failed his two tries and he only has one chance left.

"Taka-kun, it's your last try" I reminded him, "I'll try to get for you, Taka-kun" Misaki said, taking control of the joystick.

"Slowly..." I watched Misaki get Taka's plushie with anxiety, "You okay?" Hayato asked, "Maybe" I said, crossing my fingers.

"Tch, look at you" Kamitani thought. 

"I got it, Taka-kun!" Misaki said, holding the plushie. Taka took it and looked at it for a moment.

"Here Misaki" Taka gave the toy to Misaki, "Oh? Don't you want it?" I asked, "I wanted to do it for Misaki" Taka smiled.

"That's nice of you, I'm proud of you, Red Ranger"

"I hope your brother feels the same as me" I said, "I heard that" Hayato said, "Just kidding" I laughed.

"Thank you, Taka-kun" Misaki said.

"I'll pay" Hayato said, "Oh thanks!" I smiled. We all ate dinner together since it's already time for that.

"Oneechan, you said we're getting some snacks today" Misaki said, "Oh right" I remembered, "Mizuka-chan, I wanna go too!" Taka said, "Taka, enough. We're going home, mom is looking for us" Hayato said.

"Let's not waste time, come on!" I patted Hayato's shoulder, "Fine" Hayato said, taking Misaki with her bag while Taka is with me.

"Taka-kun, Hayato-niichan will be mad if you choose that" I said, Taka wanted gummy bears, "Taka-kun, this one is better" Misaki gave Taka vitamin candies.

It is a nice alternative.

"Oi Mizu" Hayato called, "Hmm?" He handed me my phone, "Who's this?" I asked Hayato, "The chairwoman" He said.

"Oba-san-"

"WHERE ARE YOU? IT'S PAST 9:30 PM AND YOU'RE STILL NOT HOME!" Oba-san yelled.

"Sorry, we'll go home right after this" I said, "You better get going!" She said, "Take care"

"What did she say?" Hayato asked, "She's looking for us, maybe I stayed out too much" I said,

"Oneechan, I'm done" Misaki gave me her cookies. "Let's pay for it and go home, okay?" I took her and placed her to the shopping cart's seat.

I went to the counter and bought the items Misaki and Taka picked while Hayato carried the two sleepy head.

"You and your husband made such cute kids"

W-wait what? Husband?

"Thank you" Hayato said, "Here's your receipt and change, have a good day" She said.

We went out of the convenience store, I still can't believe what the cashier said. Half of me liked it, half of me hoped for it.

"I'll carry Misaki, you can get that bag since it's for Taka" I said,

"You're spending too much on Taka" Hayato mentioned, "I'm fine with it" I said.

We got on the bus, lucky enough for the both of us to have seats on the bus.

My eyes are tired, "Hayato, I'm going to rest for a while" I said, leaning my head to his shoulder, "Sure" He said.

Third person's POV

Hayato and Mizuka's destination is getting near but Mizuka is still sleeping.

"You and your wife must be tired of taking care of the kids" One lady said, "It must be hard for you" She added,

Hayato smiled slightly, "We carry on for the kids" He said that made the lady smile too, "Goodluck, son" She said, leaving the bus.

"Mizuka, we're near" Hayato woke her up, Mizuka said noticed that Hayato looks happy.

"Did something good happened to you?" Mizuka asked, "Yes, you" Hayato answered immediately.

"You sneaky guy" Mizuka thought.

"Goodnight, see you tomorrow" Hayato said, kissing Mizuka's forehead, "You too" Mizuka said.

"I love you" She added but Hayato just looked at her, "Yeah, you too" Hayato said instead.

"Hey!" Mizuka frowned, "Why won't you say it back?" She said.

"Say what?" Hayato asked, I swear I'm going to-

"I love you" Hayato finally said.

Can I get that everyday?

"Mizuka" Hayato called, "Yeah?" She turned to him, "Don't forget about tomorrow" He said, "I won't" Mizuka smiled and gave him a flying kiss before going home.
