chapter three - misleading

Mizuka's POV

The bell rang, I promised to Kamitani that I'll be at the field in time.

"Ryuuichi, I will come back with Kamitani" I stood up, "Okay, be careful" He answered, "Chaa~ kids let's sleep!" Usaida said.

"Oneechan?" Misaki pulled my skirt, "What does my baby want?" I crouched to reach her, "Are you leaving me?" What? "No! I'm just going to look for Hayato-niichan" I said.

"Don't worry, Misaki, Mizu-san will be back" Ryuuichi said, "Ryuuichi is right" I added. "Be careful oneechan, Hayato-niichan is scary" I laughed, embarrassed.

Even Misaki is scared of him.

"I'll go now" I left the daycare and went to the field.

I didn't see Kamitani so I tried to look for him around the field. "Did I missed something?" I asked myself, "No, he just said-"

"Oi Mizuka" Kamitani called from behind, "Oh Kamitani, I didn't know you're there" I said, "Sit down" He sat down on the bleacher.

This guy won't even say hi.

"Do have something to say?" I sat down beside him, "I heard what you said earlier" He said, "Earlier?" What did I say?

"That you quit baseball" He said, Oh that, right I said it out loud "Ah that, yes I did quit. Not only I'll transfer here, I had an injury days before the game starts"

"Hmm?" His tone sounded surprised but his face is still the same that's a cute reaction there, "Rotator Cuff injury" I said, "Can you still play?" He asked, "Yeah, but not like I used to be"

He stood up, "Where are you going?" He just ignored me, "Kamitani-" He game me a mitt and a baseball. "You want me to play?" He nodded, "Idiot, what else do you want to do with that"

"Okay then" I smiled. I ran to the field, positioned myself.

"That was fast" Kamitani thought, leaving with tint of smile on his face.

"Show me what you got, Kamitani" I whispered. Okay, Mizuka. Calm down you're going to be fine.

I threw the ball, he hit it nicely that made me feel like a proud mama.

Ehem Mizuka, it's just you and him playing what you both love, nothing else.

"Not bad" He said, "What do you mean not bad? I've been a member of a baseball team since elementary!" I laughed, "Again!" He requested.

"As you wish" I have plan on my sleeves, I threw as hard as I can to avoid him, "Hey! That's not thrown properly!" He complained, not gonna lie, he looks so handsome.

"I'm sorry!" I chuckled.

After a few more practices:

"Take this" He gave me a water bottle, "Misaki must be waiting for me" I said, catching my breath after practicing with Kamitani.

My uniform is now soaked with sweat.

"Let's go" I stood up, "Cover up first" He grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the field. "Where are we going?" I asked, great he ignored me again.

"I have a spare shirt, you can use it for a while" He handed me his black t-shirt. "Thanks but how about you?" He looks soaked too, "I'm fine, you wore such a thin layer of uniform, you should get that changed" He said.

"Hey! Did you look at my-" He immediately cut me off, "You better change or more people will look at you" So did you looked at my exposed- forget it.

I went to the bathroom and change my blouse into his shirt. His scent is so nice, I like it.

After I changed I went to Kamitani to check on him but he's gone, "Why do you always leave me without saying anything" I said looking around.

"I'm here" And he just popped out of no where. "Where were you?" I'd expect nothing from him. "Let's just go"

I opened the door to the daycare and the kids are happily playing with their toys.

"Oneechan!" 

They ran to hug me, "Did you guys behaved?" I asked, they all answered yes. "Let's clean up this mess first"

"I'll change Midori-chan's diaper" I said, Ryuuichi continued to help the kids.

"Wait a minute, Midori-chan~" I successfully changed her diaper and at the same time, everyone cleaned the room.

All we need is to wait for their parents to pick them up. "Misaki?" I went to my sister, "Oneechan, we played mama-papa with Kirin and Taka" She said excitingly.

You forced Taka to play with you again.

I'm glad Taka didn't hesitated on her offer to be the 'father'. Imagining about it makes me laugh.

As I entered the high school building, people seems to be staring at me as I pass by.

Is there something happened that I don't know?

I walked inside my classroom,

"Mizuka-san!" Boys gathered in front of me, "Is it true?" They said in sync.

"You're dating Kamitani?!"

What are these people are saying?

"How did you get his heart?" What? That sounded murderous.

"Doesn't he look scary for you?" Well maybe, a snob too.

"W-wait! I'm not dating him there must a misunderstanding here" I denied, "But we saw you with Kamitani at the field yesterday, you both look so happy together!" One exclaimed.

"We were just playing baseball nothing else" I said, "But he gave his shirt to you!" One said, this is a mess.

Kamitani appeared behind me and all of them went back to their seats.

I placed my things on my desk, How am I supposed to give this now? I looked at Kamitani's shirt that I washed and folded nicely.

If you really don't like him then it's should be easy for you to approach him.

"Kamitani" I went to his desk, all eyes are on us, "Here's your shirt, I washed and ironed it. Thank you again" He looked at me and took the shirt.

"See you later" I said, going back to my seat.

"Kamitani, at least say thank you!" One shouted, "What's your problem?!" They said.

"You know Kamitani, he plainly looked at me and took the shirt. I already take as a thank you" I smiled.

"The class will start, please go back to where your classroom is" I looked at ones who's in the window peaking, they're clearly not our classmates.

"Now she's becoming Inomata-san from the gifted class"

"Shut your mouth" There he goes again.
