I went to human school for 6 months before my parents decided I would stay at home. Whenever we went out my mother and I had to wear sunglasses. Our eyes were too wild for the humans to understand so we had to hide it. Blaming the need on sun sensitivity. When I was at school the kids thought I was weird, but I was easy to get along with. Soon enough I had made friends with everyone despite the strange sunglasses I had to wear. I enjoyed being out with children my age, school was fun. I loved meeting and talking with people. I made little crafts that my mom adored and hung on the fridge.
Until I met this one girl who hated me. She constantly picked on me and one day in the bathroom she broke my sunglasses. I was so angry, I didn't understand why she wouldn't just leave me alone. I was too young at the time I couldn't understand her insecurities and jealousies.
"You're a monster!" she screamed as she pointed at my face. I felt the anger intensify, I had wanted to punish her. I still remember the way her face looked as her eyes rolled into the back of her head as she collapsed. The moment after that was a blur.
I remember my parents talking to the principal. The girl had gone mute, saying I caused her to have a concussion. I remember seeing how brightly my mom's eyes glowed as she used her power.
"Who are you?" my teacher asked me looking down at me as if she had never seen me before.
After that I never went back to school.
I was a monster.
I gasped as I sat up staring around the room. The air smelled like the forest and I looked at the large open window, the curtain flowing softly in the light breeze. I felt a warmth around my waist as I looked down to a heavily muscled arm. His dark eyes were ready to meet mine as I looked at him. Seeing him in the sunlight in his hair had a reddish hint to it, looking more wild after being in bed. I stared at him for a moment as I took in his facial features, a blush creeped to my cheeks. My mind finally caught up and I screamed.
When I leapt out of the bed I expect pain but was surprised when I felt almost okay, just sore. He sat up the blankets around him falling away revealing his broad chest. He wore a loose pair of pants. His chest was chiseled just like his arms. I felt a chill run over me. I growled and snarled at him.
"Where am I! Who are you!" I snapped.
"Calm-" I started. I tried to force myself into his head and it felt like I hit a wall. "I'm not that easy," he said rubbing his temples.
I gasped taking a few steps back holding my forehead in my hand. The wall caused a sharp pain in my head. I couldn't get into his mind. I stared at him for a moment before darting towards the door. I was stark naked but I had begun to shift.
A woman's voice cried out along with mine as I rammed into her. Her green eyes met mine, her features were fairy like with high cheekbones and small rosey lips. I tumbled over as she sat up to stare at me. I realized she was the woman Lily.
"You-" she whispered but I stood up growling. I shifted standing in my large wolf form over her. I turned away and stopped as the hallway was already blocked with so many people. I turned around and blocked again. My heart was racing and I felt my throat clamp up in fear. I snarl and bark as a person tries to come near me. I went into his mind and soon he was motionless on the floor. The people around me take a few steps back looking at the body in horror. I didn't kill him...but he wouldn't be waking up for a few days.
"Hey calm-" I whip around with jaws wide as I bite down on Lily's arm. My teeth sunk deep into her flesh and I tasted her blood in my mouth. I expected to see pain and hate in her eyes but instead her features were oddly calm. Her body was small, her collar bones sticking out. She brought her hand up, rubbing my muzzle. "Shhh it's okay. I know you are scared but we won't hurt you here," her voice is light igniting something inside of me. I could rip her arm off, within a heartbeat. I had done it before to much larger people.
