19 - The outskirts

Sapnap, Bad and Wilbur had spent the last few hours driving near the suburbs.

"Do you have any idea on why he might have left?" (B)

"I'm not sure. But when he usually goes around here it's because he's most likely upset or frustrated at something." (S)

"It's like a breath of fresh air for him." (S)

"Do yoo know anything that might have upset him?" (W)

"No, haven't talked to him in weeks, and he seemed to be holding up okay whenever I saw him." (S)

They kept talking as they thought of different possibilities as to what had happened.

That was until Sapnap suddenly came to a stop beside an open field.

"Why'd you stop?" (W)

"It's here." (S)

"What do you mean?" (B)

"Dream usually goes here when he's upset." (S)

"Alright we need to check." (W)

They all got out of the car and walked over to the field as they looked around.

They looked around for a few minutes trying to find anything, although it was pretty hard to miss something in the widespread field.

"I don't think he's here." (B)

No response. Sapnap just bent down on his heels as he grabbed something from the grass.

"He might not be here right now, but he was here before." (S)

"How do you know?" (W)

"Dream's necklace." (S)

"What?" (W)

"Must've dropped it when he was here." (S)

Bad and Wilbur walked over to Sapnap.

"That's Dream's?" (W)

"Yea he basically wears it everywhere he goes." (S)

"Do you have any idea where he could be now?" (W)

"I don't know." (S)

"Maybe he's near." (B)

"Yea let's check more of the outskirts, he might be there." (W)

They all got up and headed back to the car as Sapnap started driving again.

Another hour had gone by as they kept driving.

"Guys it's getting pretty late, we should head back." (B)

"Yea, we still have school tomorrow and we have a 5 hour drive back." (S)

"We need to find him Sapnap." (W)

"Well try again tomorrow Wilbur." (S)

Sapnap turned the car around and started driving back to his house.

"You can stay at my place, it'll probably already be midnight by the time we get back." (S)

The rest of the car ride was silent, no one said a word.

Wilbur had already fallen asleep as bad kept trying to text Dream in hopes of a reply.

"It's no use Bad, he's not going to answer." (S)

"We have to try sap, he's been missing for over 5 days now." (B)

"He's probably fine." (S)

"How could you be so calm? Your best friend is missing." (B)

Sapnap didn't respond, he just kept his eyes on the road.

"Look Sapnap, you might be upset but he's still your friend." (B)

"You know this isn't just affecting you Sapnap? George is terrified of what could have happened to Dream and you're still upset." (B)

"Everyones worried about him but you seem like you don't even care." (B)

"Of course I care Bad." (S)

"Then act like it." (B)

Dream's POV

It was now midnight and I had turned my phone back on hoping they had eventually stopped.

I had dozens of notifications all from my friends texting and calling.

I looked at some of them.

New message from Eret

New message from Karl

Missed call from Badboyhalo

Missed call from Techno

New message from Techno

Missed call from Fundy

I didn't care for most of them, I was just hoping there would have been a call or message from George..

There was nothing from him.

He does hate me...

Hopefully they don't find me.

What am I going to do now?

I can't stay here forever.

They'll find me eventually.

I have to leave soon.

And that was my plan, I would spend another few nights and then leave for good.

Maybe into another city? I guess anywhere new could give me a fresh start.

It was now a Friday morning. Wilbur and Bad had spent the night at Sapnap's house.

Sapnap had woken them up after they had only gotten a few hours of sleep.

They all got ready as Sapnap drove them to school and once they arrived they had gone to talk with everyone as they promised.

"Did you guys find anything?" (N)

"Was he there?" (T)

"He wasn't there, but we found something else." (S)

"What did you find?" (E)

"Dream's necklace, Sapnap found it at the flower field." (B)

Sapnap then pulled out the necklace from his back pocket.

"So he was there? (N)

"Yea but he was gone by the time we got there." (W)

"We looked around for another hour but we didn't find him." (B)

"We need to keep looking." (N)

"Yea, me might go back later today." (W)

"Alright." (N)

"How do you know he's there though?" (K)

"Where else could he be?" (B)

"I don't know, but we might need to contact the police or something." (K)
