The Aftermath

It's all over the paper, folks! Despite the devastation of what has been confirmed as an extraterrestrial attack, the extraordinary heroics of the group known as the "Renegades" has been to many a cause not only for comfort, but for celebration.

"It's just really great knowing they're out there, that someone is watching over us," one citizen had to say.

More fanatics and social media users were praising for the Renegades' actions, such as one fanboy praising, "I love you, Star!"

"And then these guys were like... PEW! PEW! And then the air goes... BOOM! And this owl person walks up and she goes... ROAR!" six year old Stewie Griffin described the battle from the far coast.

"I don't know. I don't exactly feel safer with those things out there. It just seems that there's a lot they're not telling us," John Collins, another citizen had to comment.

"Superheroes in Los Angeles? Give me a break," an elderly senior, Abe Simpson, commented.

Former president Donald J. Trump had to say, "These so-called, 'heroes', have to be held responsible for the destruction done to this city. This was their fight. Where are they now?"

Tough questions are being asked about the Renegades themselves. Their sudden appearance and equally sudden disappearance have baffled many national authorities as to what would happen to global security itself.

Another girl, Jackie Lynn Thomas, argued to the negators, "What, this is all somehow their fault? Marco Ubaldo Diaz saved my life from these... things. Wherever he is, and wherever any of them are, I would just. .. I would want to say thank you. "

"Where are the Renegades?" the Secretary of Defense asked, observing hundreds of news reports about the new heroic group.

"I'm not currently tracking their whereabouts," I answered. "I'd say they've earned a leave of absence."

"And the Artifact?" the Commandant of the Air Force asked.

"The Key is where it belongs. Out of our reach."

"That's not your call," another Joint Chief told me.

"I didn't make it," I reasoned. "I just didn't argue with the queen that did."

"So, you let this Princess Star Butterfly take it and the war criminal, Ludo Avarius, to this 'Mewni' dimension who should be answering for his crimes against humanity?"

"Oh, I think he will be," I chuckled.

"Major Francis Monogram, I don't think you understand what madness you've started, letting the six Renegades loose on this world," the Chief of Naval Operations replied. "They're too dangerous to be kept alive."

"They surely are, and the whole world knows it," I repeated. " Every world knows it."

"Was that the point of all this?" The SecDef asked. "A statement?"

"... a promise." I corrected, while signing out of the call.

"Sir, how does it work now?" Carl asked while walking up to the bridge. "They've gone their separate ways. For Star, pretty extremely far. If we get into a situation like this again, what happens then?"

"They'll come back."

"Are you really sure about that? And how are we suppose to call them back?"

"They'll come on their own."

"Why?"

...because we'll need them to.

because we'll need them to
