THE DON'S HOME

Jungkook looked at the Don. Yes, this is what he expected from a mafia boss. Although loving to his family, he had absolutely no qualms about getting rid of someone if he needed to. The fear in Jungkook was real, but this is what he had signed up for when he accepted Jimin.

Jungkook looked at the Don. He had to make this work. His business mind kicked in; logic took over.

Jungkook: 'Hummm... If she was with you long enough to want to change you she must have known a lot. What was to prevent her from sharing that information when she left, if you just let her go? We have that issue when we let employees go from the company, especially those privy to some of the more guarded information.'

The Don laughed and patted Jungkook heartily.

Don: 'I bet you wish you could just make them disappear. Instead you have to keep a constant eye on them, correct?'

Jungkook nodded. 'It is a full-time job, actually.'

Don: 'He is much better than I first thought, Jimin my boy. Where have you hidden him?'

Jimin smiled. "He has his own company to run and a family to take care of, which is probably why you like him so much.'

Don: 'Ahhhh... you are your family's Don. I like you!'

He smacked Jungkook again. The other men in the room grinned. It was rare for the Don to really take to someone so much. Yoon looked at Jimin and nodded.

Don: 'I hear you looking to learn a few basics in surveillance.'

Jungkook: 'It might help me keep on my toes. You never know what is out there...'

Don: 'If it is that fucking bastard kid of mine, Ki, then don't worry. After today he will hear a few words from me.'

He waved his hand. A man who hand been standing in the corner stepped into the light and bowed to the Don. It scared the heck out of Jungkook and he jumped slightly. He was even facing that corner of the room and hadn't seen the guy. The Don laughed. No one else in the room had made a move.

Don: 'Holy hell! You do need training, my boy. You are pathetic.'

Jungkook grinned.

Don: 'I adopted Ki when he was three and that son of a bitch has been a thorn in my side ever since... always being a prick to everyone and everything. At first I thought that would make him a good fighter, but fighting others is good, not fighting family.'

Jungkook: 'The last thing I want to do is disrupt a family. I know what it is like being is a completely hateful family towards each other.'

The Don looked at him and tilted his head.

Don: 'You have all the makings for our family. You are logical, loyal, and truthful. The thing you are lacking is the eyes of death, so it's good you are Jimin's husband. He needs someone who will love him and won't be someone I ask to be part of this.'

Jungkook: 'Eyes of death?'

Don: 'You can't kill, but that's a good thing. You do, however, have a wonderful brain in that head and a good heart.'

He patted Jungkook on his chest.

Don: 'I loved someone once that was so much like you it is painful to see you. They were strong and kind...took me for who I was. Times were different back then. My father didn't approve of us and wanted me with my first wife, so to prove my loyalty to the family and get this seat...'

He picked up a glass of liquor and downed it, staring into the empty crystal glass.

Don: '...I had to remove him from my life. He was my weakness.'
