His eyes slowly fluttered open, momentarily being blinded by the white lights that he eventually adjusted to. Atsumu squinted, both at the ringing pain in his ears and in attempt to dim the lights above him. He could hear a heart monitor beeping to his right and a slight weight pushing down the left side of the bed."..the hell.." Atsumu mumbled to himself softly, his voice still sounding unnaturally hoarse.
The blonde went to look to his left, on to feel himself pulled into someone's embrace.
"'Tsumu!" Osamu had unconsciously yelled as he hugged his brother tight, making sure to sill be gentle as he didn't want to hurt him.
"I won't as ya why until yer ready but please, please 'Tsumu never do that again.." Osamu whispered out, if it was any louder he would've broken into tears once again.
Atsumu couldn't help but be a little confused, though when he felt a sharp pain from his wrists after trying to move his arms, he froze. The blonde felt himself slowly space out, images of the night flashing through his head, the crying, the letter, the message, that must've been why he was still here..
Osamu had stayed silent seeing as how Atsumu had spaced out, but when he noticed the blonde softly shaking and the tears that had come to his eyes, he knew he didn't have to give a reminder. Atsumu looked up to his brother with a hurt look and this time pulled him in for a hug.
"'Samu I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry, I-" Atsumu was disrupted by a small sob and Osamu had to try hard not to let tears out again as he rubbed his brothers back.
"Shh, 'Tsumu it's okay, yer still here an' that's what matters." Osamu took a small breath as he pulled back and wiped his brothers tears.
"I'm gonna get Ma and the doctor, okay? I'll be back, lay back down." Osamu had helped lay Atsumu back, who simply nodded in response to his brothers words.
Osamu watched for a moment as Atsumu laid back and closed his eyes, he figured the blonde must've been exhausted. Though he shook the thought off at the moment and got up, leaving the room.
Osamu walked out to the waiting room where his mother and their doctor were talking. Sakusa had been to but after seeing his state, Osamu forced the other to go home that night and get some rest, he was an absolute mess, it really made Osamu feel bad for him.
"He's awake, exhausted but awake." Osamu spoke in a soft tone and his mother smiled a smile of pure relief as she rushed up and out of the waiting room, their doctor following behind.
Osamu planned on going back too but had someone to call first.
"..hello?" A rough yet hushed voice answered the phone, Sakusa was half asleep and still unbearably exhausted.
"He's awake, just really drained. I think you should come see him." Osamu knew Sakusa and Atsumu needed some time together after last night, it was common sense.
"He.." Sakusa's voice fell silent for a moment. "I'll be there soon, room one fifty four, right?" Sakusa didn't care how tired he was, he was going to see Atsumu.
"Mhm, I'll see ya soon." Osamu let Sakusa slip a 'see you soon' in before he hung up and started walking back to his brothers hospital room.

After a good twenty minute drive, Sakusa pulled into the hospitals parking lot. Every inch of his body was filled with worry, he knew Atsumu was physically okay, but still had last nights events lingering in his mind.
Sakusa made what ended up being a failed attempt at pushing the thoughts away and getting out of his car. The dark-haired locked it and headed for the hospitals front doors, making his way inside and up to the front desk.
He asked for room 154 and the receptionist pointed down the hall to her right. Sakusa nodded an thanked her almost silently before walking down the hall. The dark-haired stopped outside room 154 for a moment, he took a deep breath before pushing the door open and stepping inside.
He walked in to see Osamu and their mother surrounding Atsumu's bed. The two were asking Atsumu some questions, trying to see how he was feeling, yet all three looked towards the door way when they heard Sakusa walk in.
"Come on honey." The twins mother looked at Osamu, giving him a small look. He nodded and stood up, leaving the room with his mother and closing the door behind them. Leaving Sakusa and Atsumu to themselves.
Atsumu couldn't help but feel a wave of guilt wash over him as Sakusa walked over and took a seat beside him, the silence coming from the dark-haired was only throwing the blonde off even more.
"Ki-" Atsumu cut himself off when Sakusa pulled him into a hug, still completely silent. It caught Atsumu off guard but the blonde gladly hugged him back carefully.
The room was filled with an eerie silence until Atsumu heard one thing, one little thing that made his heart break. Sakusa let a small sniffle slip, he already gave in and didn't see the point of trying to keep them silent. Just last night Sakusa could've lost the love of his life, he figured he had the right to cry about it.
Hearing Sakusa cry, Atsumu held him tight and carefully started running a hand through his hair, all why trying not cry himself. Though that didn't work as soon the blonde felt cold tears slip down his cheeks. This was much needed, a moment between the two where the simply held one another close and cried their stress away, normally they'd be embarrassed crying in front of the other but at a time like that, embarrassment didn't matter.
When the two had finished getting their tears out, Sakusa pulled away from Atsumu then wiped both his own and the blondes tears. The dark-haired took Atsumu's hand gently and took a deep breath.
"Omi I-.. I know what yer gonna say an' I'll spare ya the trouble." Atsumu sighed softly. "I know I shoulda called ya or went an' got 'Samu but I wasn't thinkin', I just.. I wanted to get it done an' over with.." Atsumu let his face fall, while Sakusa sat stunned for a second.
"Don't," Sakusa reached out and lifted the blonde's face, making Atsumu look him in the eyes. "Don't ever keep something like this to yourself again, even if it's hard to remember that we're here for you in a moment like that, please, don't." Sakusa took in a small breath and all Atsumu could do was nod.
"No, I want to hear you say it Atsumu. I need to hear you say you'll try and reach out next time." Sakusa wasn't letting it go that easily, he needed to know Atsumu really meant it, he couldn't risk losing the blonde again.
"I.. I'll try." Atsumu nodded. "I promise ya Kiyoomi, I'll try."
"Thank you 'Tsumu." Sakusa let out a small sigh of relief and pulled Atsumu close once again, softly brushing a hand through his hair.
At one point, Sakusa placed a kiss on the blondes head a let out a breath he didn't know he had ben holding, one that broke their silence.
"Hey 'Tsumu?" Sakusa held his tone soft and calm, not to make Atsumu nervous.
"Mhm?" Atsumu responded, his eyes were shut and he was leaning into Sakusa's hold, finally letting himself calm in his boyfriends embrace.
"We're gonna get through this together. There's not a second where I won't have your back, no matter what, okay?" Sakusa knew damn well Atsumu needed to hear it, and Atsumu, well was stunned at the words for a few minutes before quietly responding.
"Ya promise?" Atsumu asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I promise," Sakusa smiled softly as he let Atsumu go. He then repositioned himself and opened his arms once again. "C'mon 'Tsumu, you should get a little more rest and I'll be right here when you wake up."
Atsumu smiled at this, and gladly laid back against Sakusa, smiling just a little more feeling the dark-haired's arms wrap around him, sealing him in a secure embrace. The blonde after a few minutes had let his eyes fell shut, finally feeling calm enough to let himself drift off. Things were going to be okay from now on, as long as he was in Sakusa's arms, everything was going to be just fine..
