I answer the door and sure enough, Chris was there. "I told you we could do it next time. I suddenly had something come up so..." "I just came to bring your textbook. You left it on your desk. Are you feeling okay? You look like you saw a ghost." I swallow my panic. I need Chris to leave. I don't know what Sonic.exe is capable of and I feel like I might've opened Pandora's box. "I'm fine but I'm super busy so we can't hang out. Sorry." I start pushing Chris towards the door when he grabs the door jam. "Is there something your not telling me? Wait, blink once if you're in trouble." I sigh and blink twice. "I'm fine. My parents just came home early so I wanted to spend time with them." I can't believe I just lied to Chris like that. I'm sorry Chris, it's for your safety. I push him out the door and shut it. "Good, I thought he'd never leave." "You're not helping your case, you know. I'm having a really hard time trusting you. Especially since you lied to me." I hear a slight pixelated laugh. "Would you really believe me if I had told you the truth?" I think about it for a moment. He's right, I'd probably think he was crazy. "(Y/N), I know you're scared but I promise I'm not bad. We can go back to how things were before. Here, I'll even pull up our favorite game." The Sonic on my screen pulls up Team Sonic Racing but I'm in no mood to play. Or do anything for that matter. I just sit on the floor and pull my knees to my chest. The game closes and the Sonic on my screen frowns. He looks like he wants to reach out to me or say something but he just looks down and mimics my position from the other side of the screen. We stay like that for hours it seems. Neither one of us speaks until the Sonic on my screen suggests I go to bed and get some rest. I go to bed but I don't fall asleep. I just stare at the ceiling for a while and then go back downstairs. My laptop glows in the darkness of my living room. It's strange but that glowing is almost inviting. I reach out towards it and it's almost blinding as it envelops me.

I took out my anger on that stupid fox. Something doesn't feel right though. I know it's got nothing to do with what I'm doing currently but there's a sense of dread and worry overwhelming me. I decide to give the fox a break from the torture until I can find out why I have this overwhelming feeling. Why do I feel like this?

When the bright light finally fades from my vision I begin to feel like I'm dreaming. More like having a nightmare. It's that green hill zone from the hacking incident except way more realistic. No dead animals like in the picture though. Mysterious red stains here and there along the path and the sky is blood red. It's also dead silent. Like eerily dead silent. I feel like this nightmarish place will swallow me whole. Then I see it in the distance. A castle. It looks so out of place with the rest of the scenery. I decide head in that direction, maybe there's someone who can help me.
