A little breeze wakes Thomas up. Slowly he opens his eyes, he tries to focus his sight. After blinking a few times, he sees Newt blowing air in his face. 'Wake up Tommy, time to wonder in the woods.' 'Jeez Newt, how early is it? Has the sun even come up yet?' 'Barely, I thought we could watch it come up as we take a walk.' 'Alright, let me grab my shoes.' After Thomas has put on his shoes they walk out of the tent. Thomas takes a deep breath as they stand outside. A cool morning breeze passes by. The sky has a beautiful color caused by the sun who has just popped up at the horizon. Thomas feels Newt trying to grab his hand. As their fingers touch a tingle travels from his fingertip to the rest of his body. Will he ever get just to this feeling? Every time that Newt touches him it feels like electricity going through his body.
Along the way they've plucked some berries which they can use as a light breakfast. 'We forgot to bring water', says Thomas as he puts some berries in his mouth. 'We can check out the river, see if it's fresh water', suggest Newt and he gives Thomas a funny look. 'What? Something wrong?' 'You have some berry juice on your face.' Thomas snickers and tries to wipe it off. 'Here, let me try.' Newt grins and comes closer to Thomas. Softly he licks it off Thomas' check, he leans in again and kisses Thomas. Newt lips taste sweet from the berries and Thomas chuckles. 'Let's go to the river then', says Thomas as he pulls Newt with him by the hand. They go through some bushes and trees before they reach the river. They can hear the water running along the stones. 'Maybe we could even fish here.' Newt examens the water and makes his hands into a bowl, fills it with some water and takes a sip. 'We're lucky, it's for sure drinkable. And I'm almost certain that we will be able to catch some fish here.' Thomas imitates Newt and takes some sips of river water. 'Not bad', says Thomas as he licks a few drops from his chin. He looks over at Newt who seems to be staring at the other side of the river. 'You know Tommy, maybe we can jump on those rocks and make it to other side. You up for a challenge?' Thomas takes a quick look at the rocks in the river who seem to be forming a sort of path and says daring; 'Always'. They take off their shoes and Newt takes the first step on one of the stones. He turns around and says; 'See you on the other side.' He hops from one stone to another. Thomas follows his lead. Then all of a sudden Newt stops. 'Damn, I don't know if I'm able to make this jump, Thomas.' 'Hold on, maybe if I go first, then I can sort of catch you.' Newt grabs Thomas' hand so that he can jump back onto the previous stone. Thomas makes his way onto the other rock and takes the jump. He wiggles and tries to balance himself. After some arm waving and feet work he stands stable. 'Come on Newt, I'll catch you.' Newt takes a run-up and jumps. Thomas stands ready to catch him. Thomas pulls Newt close as he catches him. They stand together on the slippery stone embracing each other. 'See, gotcha.' He looks down at Newt and smiles. Slowly he grabs Newt's face. He kisses him gently and intense. Thomas looks at Newt one more time and runs his hand through Newt's hair. They take the last few steps and reach the other side. After wondering around for a bit they walk into a field of daisies. 'Wow, have you ever seen this many daisies?' says Newt with a look of unbelieve on his face. Thomas reaches down and plucks a flower. He taps Newt on the shoulder and says; 'Not to be cheesy but..'. He smiles and puts the flower behind Newt's ear. Newt blinks a few times and says in a girly voice; 'Do you think I'm pretty, Tommy?'. They laugh and sit down in the field.
