Rainbow: You've gotta be kidding me! How can you not be my parents?! If you're not my parents, then who is?! Am I just adopted and my birth parents are far away from here or dead?!
Dad: Sweetie, listen.
Rainbow: Ugh, go ahead, I'm listening.
Dad: Yes, we adopted you, but who your birth mother is...that's hard to explain.
Rainbow: What do you mean?! If I'm from the moon, then my birth mother was an astronaut, right?
Mom: No, Rainbow.
Rainbow: Then...then who is my birth mom?
Mom: C'mon, Rainbow
Rainbow Dash followed her parents to her bedroom, she held back a few tears. She couldn't believe she was living a lie all her life.
Rainbow: You're joking, right?
Mom: No, baby, we're not kidding.
Rainbow: *crosses arms* What's going on?
Mom: Let me tell you a story, 15 years ago, your dad and I were coming home from a night out when we heard a baby crying in an alleyway. When we went to go see what it was, we saw a tiny baby girl in a basket abandoned and a note. The note said that her birth mother was forced to give her up and that someone had to take care of the baby for her. We noticed a tiny moon necklace on the little cutie slightly glowing, so we figured she must be from the moon. Your dad and I talked about it and decided to take the baby and raise her.
Rainbow: The baby was me, wasn't it?
Dad: Yeah
Rainbow Dash looked down, holding back her tears. She couldn't believe this. Could this be why she responded so strangely to the eclipse or why the moonlight was bothering her so much? Why her of all people? And where was her birth mother now? Had she died? Had she moved far away? Had she forgotten about her?
Dad: Here, take this.
Rainbow's dad put a necklace on her neck, it looked like the moon necklace they had described.
Rainbow: Is this what I had when you first found me?
Both of her parents nodded. Rainbow Dash just didn't believe their story.
Rainbow: Are you sure I came from the moon? How can you be sure by just one necklace? Maybe it was just a gift.
Mom: If it were a gift, it wouldn't sparkle every night when the moon was out.
Rainbow: Maybe it's just a luminous necklace.
Mom: It doesn't glow in any other dark places.
Rainbow: Maybe it's broken then.
Dad: Sweetie, we're not joking, this necklace is magic
Rainbow: The only magic here in Canterlot is Equestrian magic. How can there be other magic?
Mom: We don't know for sure, sweet girl, that's all we can tell you.
Rainbow: I don't believe this...
Mom: I'm sorry, Rainbow, we wanted to tell you when you were older, but we noticed that you were getting suspicious, so we decided to tell you now.
Rainbow Dash went downstairs in disbelief. She couldn't believe her parents were hiding such a big secret all her life. This could really change her life or possibly how people see her. What would her friends say about this? More importantly, what would Rainbow Dash do? Could she continue with her normal life or would things change for her forever?
