Chapter 7

This was just too much for Rainbow Dash to take in, the fact that she wasn't the ordinary teen she thought she was stressed her out. This was no ordinary secret.

Rainbow: Can't believe I'm not who I thought I was, why me of all people? What am I supposed to do? How will my friends react to this? I mean, I know my parents mean well, but I can't just...take off. I wanna stay here with all my friends...this life is all I know, I don't want to leave it. I wanna stay and be happy.

She looked down at the ground, if only she never found out about this secret. She wished that she was just a normal kid like everyone else, then she wouldn't be so unhappy. Being normal was probably better than being born on the moon and sent down to Earth without any information about what you've gone through.

Later that day at school, she told her friends the big reveal.

Fluttershy: *gasps*

Applejack: Well ain't that the bee's knees!

Pinkie: What?

Rainbow: I know, I still can't believe it

Pinkie: No, what's the bee's knees? *gasps* Do bees have knees?! If so, then they might get feet, and then hands and then toes and fingers, then bodies! Next thing you know, they'll be losing their wings and then mutate into human beings and DESTROY THE HUMAN RACE!!!!

Everyone glanced at Pinkie confused. What exactly was she trying to say? It clearly made no sense at all.

Pinkie: What? Am I not allowed to be creative? What's wrong with that?

Rainbow: Ugh...never mind

Fluttershy: No, Dashie, that's incredible!

Rarity: You're very unique, darling

Rainbow: It's not as amazing as you guys think it is.

Applejack: Sugarcube, how come?

Twilight: What could be more amazing than that?

Rainbow: The problem is that I've been living a lie all my life and Mom and Dad...should I even call them that now?

Rarity: Whatever do you mean, darling?

Rainbow: I'm adopted

Fluttershy: Oh Dashie...I'm so sorry

Rainbow Dash slightly cried not liking where this was going, everyone gathered into a group hug trying to comfort her.

Rainbow: *sniffles* I just can't believe that they would hide a secret like this...they tell me that I'm from the moon, but they hardly know anything about my birth mother. SHE ABANDONED ME!!! WHO KNOWS WHERE SHE IS NOW?!?!

Applejack: Hey, hey, relax, sugarcube. Maybe you'll see her one day

Rainbow: Maybe?! MAYBE?!?!? WHAT IF I NEVER SEE HER?! WHAT IF SHE'S LONG GONE?!?!? SHE PROBABLY DOESN'T EVEN REMEMBER ME ANYMORE!!!!!!

Pinkie: *covers ears* Yeesh! No need to yell, we're right here!

Rainbow: REALLY?!? COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO YELLS A LOT!!!!

Twilight: Rainbow, you really need to calm down, I think you're taking this way too personal.

Rainbow: Easy for you to say! You have no big secret that's completely driving you nuts and then it just breaks your heart when you finally find out! None of you have any idea how I feel! Surely you would be heartbroken if you found out that you weren't who you thought you were! Huh?!

Rainbow Dash rushed off in tears, the girls glanced at each other in concern and sympathy. This seemed like a lot for Rainbow Dash to handle. It sounded cool that she's not like any other kid, but she didn't seem too impressed, she seemed more devastated and disappointed. How could something so amazing be so tough? Maybe she was overthinking it, maybe it's a lot more special than she thinks. But right now, she just needs some time to relax. Let's give her that time, she'll come to her senses eventually.
